Remove a G Suite service

If you don't want anyone in your organization to use a particular G Suite service, remove it from your Admin console. You can remove many core service such as Gmail, Calendar, Hangouts, and so on. You can also remove services you added from the G Suite Marketplace.

When you remove a service, none of your users can access it. However, you can add the service back later and they won't lose any existing data. If you remove Google Drive, for example, users lose access to their online documents. But if you add Drive back again their documents are restored.

Remove a service for everyone

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Home page, click Apps.
  3. Click the type of service you want to remove (G Suite or Marketplace apps).
  4. Click the service you want to remove.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click the Uninstall link.

For some services you might need to go to a separate sub-page, for example, by clicking General Settings or Advanced Settings.

The service is removed from the list of services in the Admin console.

Turn off a service for some users

To remove a service for some users but not others, don't remove the service as described above. Instead, turn it off for select organizational units. For steps on doing this, go to Control who can access Google services and click the service you want to turn off.
