Turn services On or Off for users

You can control which Google services are available to users in your organization by turning services On or Off in your Admin console. This applies for Google Apps services like Gmail and Google Calendar, services you've added from the Google Apps Marketplace, and free Google services such as Blogger, YouTube, or Google+. You can turn a service On or Off for everyone in your account or only for certain users.

To turn on a service only for some users, you must first group users in organizational units. To control access for a single user, create a unit just for that user. For details, see Apply policies to different users.

Some services like Google+ have important requirements or considerations when turning them On or Off. For details, see the help for managing each service.
Turn several services On / Off
  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console.
  2. From the dashboard, open the list of services you want to turn on/off by clicking Google Apps, Marketplace Apps, or Other Google Services.

Note that you might have to look in More controls to find Other Google Services.

  3. Check the box next to each service you want to turn on/off. If you don't see the service you want, click and add it.
The Other Google Services page only lists featured services by default. To see all Google services in this category, click filter to open the filter pane. Then uncheck the Show top featured services checkbox.
  4. Click to turn the selected services on, or to turn the selected services off.
  5. In the dialog box, click Turn ON/OFF for everyone or Turn ON/OFF for selected organizations. If you click the latter, your organization tree appears:
    1. Select the organizational unit for which you want to configure service availability.
    2. Select the services you want to turn on/off.
    3. Click to turn the selected services on, to turn the selected services off, or to configure the organizational unit to inherit the setting from its parent.
Turn an individual service On / Off
  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console.
  2. From the dashboard, open the settings page for the individual service you want to turn on/off.

For example, go to Other Google Services > Blogger.

  3. Click the control under the icon.
  4. In the menu, click Turn ON/OFF for everyone or Turn ON/OFF for selected organizations. If you click the latter, the organizational hierarchy appears:
    1. Select the organizational unit for which you want to turn this service on or off.
    2. At the right of the tree, click either the Override or Inherit link (whichever is available).
    3. If you clicked Override, change the On/Off setting as desired for this organizational unit.
    4. Click Apply when you're done.

It might take up to 24 hours for your change to take effect.
