Real world examples

Now that you understand the interface and how queries are created, let’s demonstrate how the Ad Exchange Query Tool can help you dig deeper into your performance data with some examples. Each example has a set of criteria that would be selected or added to the query. At the end of each scenario, a report example is displayed.

Example #1: What is the performance of only my display inventory in the US excluding AdWords and DBM for the past 7 days?

Date range: Select the following:

  • Last 7 days

Filters: Add the following:

  • Buyer networks is not Google: AdWords, Google: DCLK Manager
  • Countries is United States
  • Products is Display

Dimensions: Select the following:

  • Buyer networks

Metrics: Select the following:

  • Ad impressions
  • Lift
  • CTR
  • eCPM
  • Estimated revenue
Example #2: How do abandonment and drop-off rates compare for my 15 second TrueView ads vs. standard in-stream ads for the last 30 days?

Date range: Select the following:

  • Last 30 days

Filters: Add the following:

  • Video ad durations is 1-15 seconds
  • Video ad types is standard in-stream, TrueView

Dimensions: Select the following:

  • Days
  • Video ad types
  • Video ad durations

Metrics: Select the following:

  • Ad impressions
  • eCPM
  • Estimated revenue
  • Abandonment rate
  • Drop-off rate
