Product Feed Specification

In order to prevent suspension of your feed please read the Google Shopping policies very carefully before creating a feed.

This page lists all the attributes that you need to provide in order for your products to be listed in Google Shopping. Some attributes are required for all items, some are required for certain types of items (such as clothing) and others are recommended. Failure to provide a required attribute may prevent that particular item from showing up in Google Shopping results, whereas failure to provide recommended attributes may result in items showing up less frequently. Read through the entire document to make sure that your products show up on Google Shopping. For a basic overview of feeds, see this article. Before creating your feed, choose the file format that is right for you.

You can also review a summary of attribute requirements for a quick view of the specification for your target country.

We use the term item to describe a single product. If you are using Text or Tab delimited format, an item is equivalent to one line in your data feed. Items are similar to products, but we assume that products can occur in multiple variations. These variations – product variants – differ by colour, material, pattern or size. We use item to refer to a single variation of a product.

Feed rules may allow you to transform your existing data to our required attributes and values without needing to format all of your data according to the Products Feed Specification. We also accept feeds formatted according to the Yandex specifications for data feeds targeting Russia.

Important Note:

  • If you are using a delimited format, you can use the attribute names either in English or the language of your target country. Make sure that the attribute names (e.g. 'condition') and values (e.g. 'new') are always in the same language.
  • If you are using XML or API, you must use English attribute names shown within the brackets.
  • If you are using XML or API, you must use an underscore in place of a space within an attribute name (e.g., "image_link" instead of "image link"). A space within an attribute value is allowed (e.g. "in stock").

Basic Product Information

id [id] – An identifier of the item

The identifier for each item has to be unique within your account, and cannot be re-used between feeds for the same country in the same language. If you have multiple feeds for one country, IDs of items within different feeds must still be unique. If your SKUs are unique across your inventory and meet the requirements below, we suggest that you use your SKUs for this attribute.

Important:

  • Starting and trailing whitespaces and carriage returns (0x0D) are removed.
  • Each sequence of carriage return (0x0D) and whitespace characters (Unicode characters with the whitespace property) is replaced by a single whitespace (0x20).
  • Only valid unicode characters are accepted; this excludes the following characters:
    • control characters (except carriage return 0x0D)
    • function characters
    • private area characters
    • surrogate pairs
    • non-assigned code points (in particular any code point larger than 0x10FFFF)
  • Once an item has been submitted, the ID must not change when you update your data feed.
  • Once an item has been submitted, the ID must not be used for a different product at a later point in time.
  • For Belgium, Canada and Switzerland only: If your website is in multiple languages, submit one feed per language. You may reuse the same ID for the same item in each version of the feed for each language.
title [title] – Title of the item

This is the name of your item, which is required. We recommend that you include characteristics such as colour or brand in the title, which differentiates the item from other products.

When to include: Required for all items.

Important:

  • Follow our Editorial guidelines closely. For example, do not include any promotional text such as "Free delivery", and do not use BLOCK CAPITALS.
  • For variant products, you are required to include the common title of the variant items. For example if "Men's Pique Polo Shirt" is available in red and blue, you can have one of the following titles:
    • Men's Pique Polo Shirt (can be used for both variants)
    • Men's Pique Polo Shirt – Red (for the red shirt)
    • Men's Pique Polo Shirt – Blue (for the blue shirt)
  • For mobile phones or tablets, the subsidised price with a service contract is allowed. In this case, the price can be as low as 0. The items must be submitted with the 'google product taxonomy' value of 'Electronics > Communications > Telephony > Mobile Phones' for phones and 'Electronics > Computers > Tablet Computers' for tablets, and include the phrase "only with contract" (or equivalent language) in the 'title'.
  • In the US, payment schemes featuring multiple instalments are allowed for mobile phones and tablets. In this case, submit the price of the down payment as your 'price'. The 'title' must include the phrase "with payment plan" (or equivalent language). For feeds targeting Brazil, please use the 'instalment' attribute to submit mobile phones or tablets with multiple instalments. Mobile phones or tablets with these types of payment schemes are not allowed in other target countries.
  • Information products in Russia need to specify the age rating at the beginning of the item title. This includes books and other printed or digital media and any other products that may include information that is age-restricted in Russia.
    • Title: “(age rating)” + “title of your item”. Example: (18+) Братья Карамазовы
    • The age rating must be one of the following: 18+, 16+, 12+, 6+ or 0+
description [description] – Description of the item

Only include information relevant to the item. Describe its most relevant attributes, such as size, material, intended age range, special features or other technical specs. Also include details about the item’s most visual attributes, such as shape, pattern, texture and design, since we may use this text to find your item.

We recommend that you submit around 500 to 1,000 characters, but you can submit up to 5,000 characters. Descriptions should follow standard grammar rules and end with a punctuation mark.

Important:

  • Make sure that you follow our Editorial guidelines closely. For example, do not include any promotional text such as "Free delivery", do not use BLOCK CAPITALS and do not include a description of your brand or company.
  • Additionally, the following information should not be included in descriptions:
    • Links to your shop or other websites
    • Billing, payment or sales information
    • References to internal categorisation systems, e.g. "Toys & Games > Toys > Baby Dolls"
    • Comparisons to other products beyond the item that you’re selling, e.g. “even better/faster/larger than X”
    • Details about other products, accessories or similar items available
google product category [google_product_category] – Google's category of the item

The 'google product category' attribute indicates the category of the product being submitted, according to the Google product taxonomy. This attribute accepts only predefined values, taken from the product taxonomy tree. If your items fall into multiple categories, include only one category which is the most relevant.

For all items, submitting more specific categories can make bidding by category more precise.

Any category from Google’s product taxonomy must include the full path or the category ID. 5598 or 'Clothing & Accessories > Clothing > Outerwear > Coats & Jackets' are acceptable values, but 'Coats & Jackets' is not.

When to include: Required for all items that fall within the 'Apparel & Accessories', 'Media' and 'Software' categories. If your products do not fall into one of those categories, this attribute is recommended but not required.

Additional category requirements: For items that fall into the categories listed below, the value that you submit for ‘google product category’ must use the categories as they appear below or the more specific categories provided in the full Google product taxonomy. It is not sufficient to provide the highest-level categories, such as 'Clothing & Accessories' or 'Media' for these items.

Category for alcoholic beverages: Google Shopping allows the promotion of the sale of alcohol with a few restrictions. Alcohol must be submitted with the 'google product category' value of

  • 499676 or 'Food, Beverages & Tobacco > Beverages > Alcoholic Beverages', or any of its subcategories
  • 3577 or 'Arts & Entertainment > Hobbies & Creative Arts > Homebrewing & Winemaking Supplies', or any of its subcategories

Category for bundles: Provide the most appropriate categorisation for bundled products of differing product types. If the bundle contains a main product, the category of the main product is most appropriate. For example, if you are submitting a digital SLR camera bundled with a bag, 'Cameras & Optics > Cameras > Digital Cameras' (152) is an appropriate category to submit for the bundled item.

Category for mobile phones or tablets with subsidised price: For mobile phones or tablets, subsidised price with a service contract is allowed. In this case, the price can be as low as 0. The items must be submitted with the 'google product category' value of 'Electronics > Communications > Telephony > Mobile Phones’ (267) for phones or 'Electronics > Computers > Tablet Computers' (4745) for tablets and include the phrase "only with contract" (or equivalent language) in the 'title'.

Category for gift cards: Google Shopping allows the promotion of gift cards with a few restrictions. Gift cards must be submitted with the 'google product category' value of 'Arts & Entertainment > Party & Celebration > Gift Giving > Gift Cards & Certificates' (53).

Examples of 'google product category' submissions

Coats and jackets fall under the 'Clothing & Accessories > Clothing' category specified above. When submitting a coat or jacket:

  • Acceptable categories:
    • 1604 or 'Clothing & Accessories > Clothing'
    • 203 or 'Clothing & Accessories > Clothing' > Outerwear'
    • 5598 or 'Apparel & Accessories > Clothing > Outerwear > Coats & Jackets'
  • Invalid categories:
    • 166 or 'Clothing & Accessories'
    • Failing to provide any 'google product category'

Rings do not fall under the specific categories listed above. When submitting rings:

  • Acceptable categories:
    • 166 or 'Clothing & Accessories'
    • 188 or 'Clothing & Accessories > Jewellery
    • 200 or 'Clothing & Accessories'> Jewellery > Rings'
  • Invalid categories:
    • Failing to provide any 'google product category'

For all your items, conforming to the above guidelines is required. However, it is strongly recommended that you use the most specific applicable category for all of your items from the full Google product taxonomy.

product type [product_type] - Your item category

This attribute also indicates the category of the product being submitted, but you can provide your own classification. Unlike the 'Google product category', you can include more than one 'product type' attribute value if products apply to more than one category. Please include the full category string. For example, if your products belong in Refrigerators, list the full string: Home & Garden > Kitchen & Dining > Kitchen Appliances > Refrigerators. You must use " > " as a separator, including a space before and after the symbol. If you submit multiple values, only the first value will be used as the ‘product type’ for your Shopping campaigns. When to include: Strongly recommended for all items if you have a categorisation for your items.

Type Text. You may include multiple product types, if it's appropriate for your item. Separate by a comma for tab-delimited; include multiple <product_type> attributes for XML.

link [link] – URL directly linking to your item's page on your website

The user is sent to this URL when your item is clicked on Google Shopping. We also refer to this as the landing page. It must point to a page showing the essentially identical item that the user was looking at. You can use tracking URLs to distinguish users coming from Google Shopping.

The URL contained in this attribute is a direct link to your product page. In addition to the 'link' attribute, you may also specify an 'adwords redirect' attribute for tracking purposes. If you specify the 'adwords redirect' attribute, the user is sent to the URL specified in the 'adwords redirect' attribute. This URL must redirect to the same website as the one specified in the 'link' attribute. If you don't specify the 'adwords redirect' attribute, the user is sent directly to the URL specified in the 'link' attribute

Important:

  • Make sure that the landing page that you link to meets the landing page requirements for Google Shopping.
  • If you have out-of-stock items or don't want to receive traffic from Google Shopping, for example if your online shop is closed temporarily due to holidays or you're performing maintenance on your landing pages, don't remove the item from your product data. Provide the 'out of stock' value in the 'availability' attribute instead. Once the item is available again, just change the 'availability' value back to 'in stock'. Your item may start serving quicker this way since we do not need to reprocess it.
  • For variations of the same product, we recommend that you submit URLs that pre-select the variant that the user clicked on in Google Shopping.
  • The URL provided in the 'link' attribute must start with 'http://' or 'https://' and use the domain name that you verified either when you created your Merchant Center account or in the Website Verification tab.
  • Any symbols used must be replaced by URL encoded entities (e.g. comma = %2C).
mobile link [mobile_link] – Mobile landing page URLs

You can use this attribute to provide links to mobile-optimised versions of the landing pages for your products. Mobile-optimised landing pages are pages optimised for smartphones and feature phones. Providing a mobile-optimised link separate from the URL that you provide in the ‘link’ attribute allows for an improved user experience by ensuring that your mobile-optimised site is properly displayed to shoppers browsing on a mobile device. It may also reduce landing page loading latencies, and you’ll also see additional reporting in Merchant Center for potential issues with your mobile-optimised landing pages.

When to include: Recommended if you have mobile-optimised versions of your landing pages.

  • The URL contained in this attribute is a direct link to your product page. If you specify the ‘adwords redirect’ attribute, it must redirect to the same website as the one specified in the 'mobile link' attribute only if the request is from a mobile device. To specify a mobile URL in your ‘adwords redirect’ attribute, use an {ifmobile} parameter in the attribute. If you don’t specify the 'adwords redirect' attribute, the user is directly sent to the URL specified in the 'mobile link' attribute if they are on a mobile device. image link [image_link] – URL of an image of the item

This is the URL of the main image for a product and is the first image that users see on product detail pages.

If you have various images of the item, submit the main image using this attribute, and include all other images in the 'additional image link' attribute.

Image size:

  • Submit the largest, highest resolution full-size image that you have for the product, up to a file size of 16 MB.
  • Recommended image size is at least 800 x 800 pixels in height and width.
  • For apparel products, images must be at least 250 x 250 pixels and can't be larger than 64 megapixels. For all other products, images must be at least 100 x 100 pixels and can't be larger than 64 megapixels.
  • Do not scale up images or submit thumbnails. We recommend that the product take no less than 75% but no more than 90% of the full image

By meeting the requirements and recommendations below, you can increase the performance of your ads. Keep in mind that items that don't meet with the requirements won't be shown in ads.

Requirements:

  • You must have an image of an item in order to submit it
  • The following types of images are also not allowed
    • Placeholder or incorrect product images
    • Generic images, graphics or illustrations that are not the actual product images, except for products in the 'Hardware' (632) or 'Vehicles and parts' (888) categories, which allow graphics and/or illustrations of the actual product
    • Single colour images that are only a square of colour, except for products in the 'Vehicle Paint' (3812), 'Craft Paint, Ink & Glaze' (505378) and 'Painting Consumables' (503740) categories
    • Images containing promotional elements (e.g. calls to action, such as "buy"; service-related information, such as extended warranty; free delivery; price information; promotional adjectives, such as "best, cheap"; condition or compatibility, such as new, 2-piece, adaptable) or names and/or logos of merchants regardless of whether the above mentioned elements overlay the product. This also applies to watermarks with promotional elements or names and/or logos of merchants.
    • Images containing obstructing content (e.g. watermarks, brand names and/or logos) that overlay the product being sold
    • Images that include borders
    • Images of a bundle that do not show the entire bundle
    • Images of multipacks that do not display a single unit of the product

    Landing pages with no image, or placeholder images that do not show the actual product, are also not allowed.

    • Make sure that the image that you provide for each item matches the values provided in the 'colour', 'pattern' and 'material' attributes, or your item might be disapproved.

Recommendations:

  • For all other countries and categories: If you cannot provide the appropriate images to submit your items as variants, you may list your variant products as a single item with multiple values for the variant attributes, and provide the available image.
  • The image must accurately display the product and include minimal or no product staging.
  • For variants based on 'colour', each individual variant item you submit must have an image that displays the product in a single colour.
  • The main image should be taken on a solid white, grey or light-coloured background.
  • The main image of a product should include a main and/or clear view of the product being sold. Additional views of the product (other than the main view) should be submitted in the 'additional image link' attributes.

Formatting:

  • The accepted image formats are non-animated GIF (.gif), JPEG (.jpg/.jpeg), PNG (.png), BMP (.bmp) and TIFF (.tif/.tiff) and the file extensions for these images should correspond to their format.
  • The accepted URL protocols are 'http' and 'https'. Any symbols used within the image URL must be replaced by URL encoded entities (e.g. comma = %2C).
  • We recommend that you submit stable URLs for your images and only update the URL if the actual image of the product has changed. This is especially important if you use a content delivery network to host images, and it will ensure that we can crawl your images correctly.

Cropping:

As we experiment with the best display options for the Shopping ad format, we might automatically crop your image to focus more on the product. To opt out of this feature, contact us.

additional image link [additional_image_link] – Additional URLs of images of the item

If you have additional images for this item, include them in this attribute. For example, if you have images that show the product from a different angle than the main image or if you have images of the packaging or the product in various settings.

You can include up to 10 additional images per item by including the attribute multiple times. For tab-delimited, separate each URL by a comma. For XML, include each URL as a separate <additional_image_link> attribute.

When to include: For all items with multiple images.

condition – Condition or state of the item

Google Shopping allows the promotion of quality second-hand items. Google Shopping also allows the promotion of refurbished items as long as they comply with local laws and regulations and with our policies.

There are only three accepted values:

  • 'new' [new]: The product is brand-new and has never been used. It's in its original packaging, which has not been opened.
  • 'refurbished': The product has been professionally restored to working order, is "as new" and comes with warranty. The packaging may or may not be the original packaging. This is sometimes referred to as "remanufactured".
  • 'used': Use this value if 'new' and 'refurbished' don't apply. For example, if the product has been used before, is a refilled printer cartridge, the original packaging has been opened or the original packaging is missing.

When to include: Required for all items.

  • If you are submitting the attribute names in English, you must provide the attribute values in English as well.

Availability & Price

The attributes in this section are required in order to specify the availability and prices of your items. The availability and prices of your items can change quite frequently, and you need to make sure that Google is notified of these changes as they happen. You can find advice on providing the most up-to-date or fresh data here.

We regularly check these attributes, and if the values provided in these attributes are found to be different from the information presented on your website, we will disapprove your items and they won't appear on Google Shopping. Please see our policies for more details.

The price (including tax and delivery, if included on the landing page) and currency must match. If you submit the 'sale price' attribute, both price and sale price must be displayed on your landing page while the sale price is active, and must match with the information submitted in your product data.

availability – Availability status of the item

Providing the most up-to-date availability status of your item is important so that users know that the item will be delivered in a timely manner.

Google Shopping does not allow the promotion of products providing incorrect availability information to users.

The availability that you provide on your landing page and in your product data must match. The only exception that we allow is an out-of-stock item in your product data showing up as an in-stock item on your landing page. Note that correct availability information is based on being able to deliver the product to the target country, not to the user’s current location.

The 'availability' attribute has three accepted values:

  • 'preorder': You're currently taking orders for this product, but it hasn't yet been released. You can use the 'availability date' attribute to indicate the day that the product will become available for delivery.
  • 'in stock': You're currently accepting orders for this product and can fulfil the purchase request. You're certain that the item will be dispatched in a timely manner because it is available for sale, i.e. it's in stock or available for order.
  • 'out of stock': You're not currently accepting orders for this product, or the product is not available for purchase.

When to include: Required for all items.

Important:

  • Your landing page should indicate the availability status of your item for the countries that you're targeting.
  • If you no longer sell an item and don't plan to sell it again in the future, you should remove the item from the feed entirely.
  • If you are submitting the attribute names in English, you must provide the attribute values in English as well.
  • If you have items that are out of stock or you don't want to receive traffic from Google Shopping (for example, if your online shop is closed temporarily because of a holiday), don't remove the item from your product data. Provide the 'out of stock' value instead. Once the item is available again, just change the value of 'availability' back to 'in stock'. Your item may start serving more quickly this way, as we would not need to reprocess it.
  • Read our Landing Page Content policy carefully for the availability requirement on your landing page.
availability date [availability_date] – The day a pre-ordered product becomes available for delivery

If you are accepting orders for products that are available for preorder, use this attribute to indicate when the product becomes available for delivery.

When to include: Recommended for items with the ‘preorder’ value for the ‘availability’ attribute.

Type Date specified by the format (YYYY-MM-DD) followed by the letter ‘T’, the time of the day when availability begins, followed by an expression of the time zone, as defined by the ISO 8601 standard.

price [price] – Price of the item

Any user in the target country has to be able to buy the item for the price shown on Shopping without paying for a membership. Items with variable prices, such as in auctions, should not be submitted. All products must be sold at fixed prices. Your websites must provide a way for any user in the target country to purchase the product through an online payment service, directly from the website or through other alternative payment methods such as cash on delivery, invoicing or payment upon collection. Any user means all legitimate online shoppers that access your websites from Google Shopping.

The price of the item has to be prominent on the landing page. The price on the landing page must match the price that you submitted to Google in your product data. If multiple items are on the same page with multiple prices, it has to be straightforward for the user to find the correct item and corresponding price.

Important:

  • For the US, don't include tax in the price. For Canada and India, do not include any value added tax in the price. For all other countries, value added tax (VAT) has to be included in the price.
  • The price must include a currency according to ISO 4217 Standard.
  • Landing pages must list prices in the appropriate currency of the target country. The appropriate currency has to be shown by default if multiple currencies are available. Products must be displayed in and sold in the currency of the target country. Any pricing information submitted or displayed (e.g. total price or entering 0 as the item price) must comply with local regulations.
  • For products on sale, we recommend including the 'sale price' attribute and submitting the regular price (before sale) in the 'price' attribute. In this case, the sale price (instead of the regular price) must be straightforward to find on the page.
  • Any user has to be able to buy the item shown on Shopping for delivery in the target countries for the provided price and not be required to buy additional products from the merchant. The provided price should exclude delivery charges and taxes based on the country-specific tax requirements. Excluded from this requirement are items in the following categories: 'Food, Beverages & Tobacco > Beverages' and its subcategories (but not 'Hard Alcohol & Spirits'), and 'Food, Beverages & Tobacco > Food Items' and its subcategories. The titles and the landing pages of these items must clearly state that a minimum order value is required.
  • You must not include a price value of 0.00 for your items. Items with zero prices may not appear in the search results (Note: The only exception is mobile phones or tablets bundled with service contracts as detailed below).
  • For mobile phones or tablets, a subsidised price with a service contract is allowed. In this case, the price can be as low as £0. The items must be submitted with the 'google product taxonomy' value of 'Electronics > Communications > Telephony > Mobile Phones' for phones and 'Electronics > Computers > Tablet Computers' for tablets, and include the phrase "only with contract" (or equivalent language) in the 'title'.
  • In the US, payment schemes featuring multiple instalments are allowed for mobile phones and tablets. In this case, submit the price of the down payment as your 'price'. The 'title' must include the phrase "with payment plan" (or equivalent language). For feeds targeting Brazil, please use the 'instalment' attribute to submit mobile phones or tablets with multiple instalments. Mobile phones or tablets with these types of payment schemes are not allowed in other target countries.
  • For products sold in bulk quantities, the total price for the minimum number of items sold must be submitted. This price has to be easy to find on the landing page. The landing page can also list the minimum quantity and the price per unit instead of the total price for the minimum number of items sold.
  • How to submit unit pricing: You can display unit prices for products in any Google product category. To display unit prices, submit the total price for the minimum number of items sold using the 'price' attribute, and add unit pricing information to the 'unit pricing measure' and 'unit pricing base measure' attributes. The price you provide will be used to calculate the unit price of the item (e.g. if price is £3, ‘unit pricing measure' is 150 ml, and ‘unit pricing base measure' is 100 ml, the unit price would be £2/100 ml).

Please note that you can use unit-pricing and 'instalment' attributes to submit price-related information for applicable target countries.

Unique Product Identifiers

Unique product identifiers are product codes associated with an individual product or product variant. They uniquely and completely identify a product in the global marketplace. When you submit these identifiers, you help us to make your ads richer, and you also make it easier for users to find the product that you're selling. Products submitted without unique product identifiers are difficult to classify and may not be able to take advantage of all Google Shopping features. Learn more about unique product identifiers. 

Submit unique product identifiers with a combination of these attributes:

  • Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) submitted through the 'GTIN' attribute. GTINs include UPC, EAN (in Europe), JAN (in Japan) and ISBN. Learn how to find your product's GTIN;
  • Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) submitted through the 'MPN' attribute; and,
  • The product's brand name in the 'brand' attribute.

These products won't have unique product identifiers:

  • Custom goods or one-of-a-kind items, like custom t-shirts, art and perishables.
  • Goods produced before unique product identifiers were introduced, like vintage goods, antiques, books published before 1970 and other special items.

Unique Product Identifier Rules

Use the following set of rules to provide the correct identifiers for each of your products.

For any items with 'new' condition and GTINs assigned by the manufacturer, submit unique product identifiers using these attributes:

  • 'gtin' required
  • 'brand' required
  • 'mpn' recommended

Own-brand items and other products for which you are the only seller generally don't have and won't be required to include GTINs. Other products that commonly don't have GTINs assigned by the manufacturer include replacement and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, custom products, antiques and some clothing products. In addition, you may not have GTINs for items with availability 'preorder' or condition 'used'. When no GTIN is assigned, submit unique product identifiers using these attributes:

  • 'brand' required
  • 'mpn' required

Some products don't have a clearly associated brand, including movies, books and musical recordings. You don't need to submit a brand in cases like these. 

In the rare situation where your product has neither a GTIN nor MPN (for example, made-to-order or handmade items), set 'identifier exists' to 'FALSE' to indicate that you have no identifier for the product.

Tips for specific types of products

  • Compatible products
    • A compatible product is meant to be used together with another product that's not necessarily from the same brand. For example, compatible products can include chargers, electronics accessories and toner or inkjet cartridges. If you sell compatible products, submit the GTIN and brand from the manufacturer who actually built the compatible product. For example, if you sell printer cartridges, you'll submit the GTIN and brand from the manufacturer of the cartridge you're selling, not the manufacturer that makes the original printer or printer cartridge.
  • Multipacks
    • A manufacturer-defined multipack is a package of several individually packed identical items sold as a unit. Use the unique product identifiers required for your product type. You should use the identifier that relates to the multipack, not the items contained in the multipack. 
    • A merchant-defined multipack can contain either several units of the same or of distinct products sold as a unit. Use the unique product identifiers required for the individual base item in the multipack.
  • Bundles
    • A manufacturer-defined bundle (for example, a camera body with a lens) is a product that contains multiple items and at least two of the items are different.
    • A merchant-defined bundle is a custom grouping of different products defined by the merchant and sold together for a single price. Use the unique product identifiers required for the product type of the main item in the bundle. Plus, use the 'is bundle' attribute in your data.
  • Products customised by engraving or other personalisation
    • If you offer customisation, engraving, or other personalisation of a product that's been assigned a GTIN by the manufacturer, submit the GTIN and use the 'is bundle' attribute to let us know that the product includes customisation. You should also include a description of the product's customisation in both the 'title' and 'description' attributes.

Detailed Product Attributes and Item Groupings

Many products like shoes, furniture and electronics come in a variety of colours, materials, sizes and so on. To make sure that we can accurately display these products to users, you may need to submit detailed product attributes for each unique product style. You'll also need to group products together with an item group id in cases where the underlying product is part of a group that varies by one or more attributes, like colour. Each different version of a product in one of these groupings are sometimes referred to as a product variant.

Example of a single item with detailed product attributes:

You are selling a leather chair in a single colour and material. Use detailed product attributes to describe the colour (e.g. brown) and material (e.g. leather) of the item.

Example of multiple items with detailed product attributes grouped by an item group id:

You are selling a T-shirt that is available in multiple colours and sizes. Use detailed product attributes to describe the different colours and sizes of each unique item and then group them together with an item group id that is unique to that item group.

Tip

Not all types of product variants are supported by Google Shopping. If you sell build-to-order custom goods or products that vary by attributes not supported by Google Shopping, make sure that you review our best practices for submitting unsupported variant products.

Detailed Product Attributes

We recommend that you provide the following product information for each unique item that you submit if it exists, is relevant, and if the information fits into the accepted values for the detailed product attributes: 'colour', 'size', 'pattern', 'material', 'age group', 'gender', 'size type' and 'size system'.

For Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, the UK and the US, the attributes 'colour', 'age group' and 'gender' are required for the 'Clothing & Accessories' category and the 'size' attribute is required for the categories 'Clothing & Accessories > Clothing' and 'Clothing & Accessories > Shoes'.

Examples of products that should use detailed product attributes:

  • A T-shirt may have colour, material and size
  • A sofa may have material, pattern and colour
  • A mobile phone may have a colour
  • A toy may have an age group

Important:

  • When naming your item using the 'title' attribute, we recommend that you include all relevant detailed product attributes as part of the title. This will help users to identify the correct version of the product that they are looking for.
  • Make sure that the image that you provide for each item matches the values provided in the 'colour', 'pattern', and 'material' attributes, or your item might be disapproved.
  • If you have several variations of one product, do not provide multiple values for detailed product attributes in a single item. Instead, create an individual item for each variant and group the items together using the 'item group id' attribute. If you do not do this, your items might be disapproved.

Item Groupings

For Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, the UK and the US, item groupings are required for all items with variants that use these detailed product attributes: 'colour', 'size', 'pattern', 'material', 'age group', 'gender', 'size type' and 'size system'. Item groupings are recommended for all other countries.

Use the 'item group id' attribute with a common value across the group. Each distinct item group must have a unique value for 'item group id'.

Examples of products that should use item groupings:

  • A T-shirt available in several colours, patterns and sizes
  • A sofa available in different materials, patterns and colours
  • A mobile phone available in different colours

Important:

  • If you do not group product variants using the 'item group id' attribute where it is applicable, we may disapprove your items. If variants in your item group differ by more than one attribute, you must submit one item per product variant combination. For example, if a T-shirt is offered in 4 different colours and each colour is available in 5 different sizes, you must submit a total of 20 items.
  • Each item in an item group must use the same set of detailed product attributes with a unique combination of values for these attributes. For example, if one item in an item group includes the values "Blue" and "L" for the 'colour' and 'size' attributes, all other items in the item group must have values for 'colour' and 'size', and each item must have a unique combination of values for those attributes.
  • We recommend that the 'link' attribute leads to a landing page that specifies all of the details about the variant item and, if possible, has one URL per product variant. If product variants share a landing page, the variant should be preselected in the URL. For example, if a user selects a red dress in size 10, they should be taken to a landing page, where the "red" and "size 10" options are already selected. If this is not possible, you may include identical link attribute values for each of the product variants within a group.

Tips

The following products are not considered to be variants of each other:

  • Products that vary in condition (for example, 'used' versus 'new')
  • Assorted items (for example, a suit consisting of a jacket and trousers)
  • Accessories and the related main product
  • A set of related items (for example, a set of furniture that includes a sofa and two chairs)

If you sell build-to-order custom goods that have a very large number of variants (more than 30), make sure that you review our best practices for submitting unsupported variant products. Examples of products that often fall into this case are custom jewellery and custom furniture.

item group id [item_group_id] - Shared identifier for all variants of the same product

All items that are variants of the same product must have the same item group id. If you have a "Parent SKU" that is shared by all variants of a product, you can provide that as the value for 'item group id'.

This defines the dominant colour(s) for an item. When a single item has multiple colours, you can submit up to two additional values as accent colours:

  • Combine the colours with '/' in order of prominence (dominant colour first, then at most two accent colours). For example, a black shoe with green accents should have a colour value of 'Black/Green'. In the case of non-deformable goods in Clothing such as jewellery or wooden accessories where finishes or materials are equivalent to colour, the finish or material name can be submitted in the colour attribute (e.g. 'Mahogany' vs 'Stainless Steel' vs 'Rose Gold').
  • Limit the number of colours submitted to three values per item.
  • If you're using XML, you must represent the '/' with &#47;

Taxes are an important part of the total cost of items. Google Shopping requires merchants to provide users with complete and accurate tax information. The prices of the items submitted in your product data must be inclusive of any applicable taxes such as value added tax except for countries listed below. The prices submitted in your product data must be shown on the landing page.

Canada

Submit product data without tax. When submitting the price of an item in the data feed, submit the price without tax. Users will see a notice on the ad explaining that tax isn’t included. For example, don’t include value-added tax (VAT) as part of the price in the data feed. Learn more about the 'price' attribute.

Display applicable sales tax on your landing page, so that your customers can accurately understand the entire cost of your product. Learn more about landing page requirements.

India

The prices of the items submitted in your product data must not include any applicable taxes such as value added tax.

Japan

The prices of the items submitted in the data feed must be inclusive of any value-added tax.

Choose one of these three ways to display prices on the landing page:

  • Total price with any value-added tax included and a statement that taxes are included in the displayed price
  • Net price with any value-added tax listed separately
  • Net price and a statement that taxes are excluded from the displayed price

United States

The prices of the items submitted in the data feed must not include any value-added tax. Instead, the tax information should be submitted either at the account level or under the 'tax' attribute.

You are required to use one of these ways to specify tax in the US:

  1. Settings in Merchant Center: You can define tax costs at the account level so that you don't have to submit taxes for each product. Find out more about account-level tax settings.
  2. Attribute in your product data: You can use the 'tax' attribute in your product data to provide taxes for an individual item.
  3. Combination of the two: You can specify default tax information in Merchant Center, and then override those defaults for certain products by specifying the 'tax' attribute. Feed-level information always overrides account-level settings.

If you can’t provide accurate tax information that complies with local laws, provide tax costs that match or overestimate the average tax rate users visiting your site from Google Shopping would pay.

Remember that no matter what tax amount you provide for Google Shopping, you're still responsible for collecting the appropriate amount of tax from your customers.

The tax attribute is an item-level override for merchant-level tax settings as defined in your Google Merchant Center account. This attribute is only accepted in the US. If your feed targets a country outside of the US, please do not use this attribute.

This attribute has four parts:

  • country (optional): The country an item is taxed in according to ISO 3166 standard. (At the moment, it's always 'US'.)
  • Geographic area. There are three sub-attributes supported to specify a geographic area where a tax rate applies. Only one should be used per each tax entry.
    • region (optional): The geographic region that a tax rate applies to. In the US, the two-letter state abbreviation (e.g., CA).
    • postal code (optional): The postal code range that a tax rate applies to, e.g., in the US, a ZIP code, a ZIP code prefix range using * wildcard, a range of ZIP codes between two ZIP Codes or two ZIP code prefixes of equal length. Examples: 94114, 94*, 94002-95460, 94*-95*.
    • location id (optional): The numeric id of a location that a tax rate applies to as defined in the AdWords API. Currently supported for State and City in the US. For example, for San Francisco: 1014221
  • rate (required): The tax rate as a percent of the item price, i.e., a number as a percentage
  • tax_ship (optional): Boolean value for whether you charge tax on shipping, 'y' for yes or 'n' for no - the default value is 'n'.

You can include this attribute up to 100 times to specify taxes for each state individually. If you decide to submit it explicitly for each state, make sure to cover every state (even the states where you do not charge tax). Note you can also specify that you charge no tax for a state by setting the rate as 0.

When to include: For items in feeds that target the US, use this attribute if you want to specify taxes for a particular item, or you want to override the default tax costs specified in the Merchant Center settings. If you do not provide tax information using one of these methods for each item, your items won’t show up in Google Shopping results.

Delivery Delivery is an important part of the total cost of items. In fact, delivery cost is the most common reason for users abandoning their shopping choices. Google Shopping only allows the promotion of product listings and websites offering delivery to the areas or regions of the countries that merchants are targeting. Google Shopping also requires merchants to provide users with complete and correct delivery information and costs. Delivery price must contain merchants' handling and insurance fees, if applicable. Direct-to-consumer delivery rates must be provided. Rates for other methods, such as deliver-to-shop delivery, are not allowed. Please note that if you deliver from outside the target country: You need to provide the delivery information (country, region, service, price) applicable to the area or region of the target country. You need to prominently state that all customs and customs-related fees are not included in the item price or delivery price during the checkout process before users place the order. Direct-to-consumer shipping rates must be provided. Rates for other shipping methods, like ship-to-store delivery, are not allowed. In Sweden and Norway, shipping services to certain pickup points (PostNord, DHL, Bring and Schenker) are acceptable and costs for shipping services to these pickup points can be submitted. Important:

This attribute provides the specific delivery estimate for the product. Providing this attribute for an item overrides the global delivery settings that you defined in your Google Merchant Center settings.

This attribute has four sub-attributes:

  • region (optional): The geographical region to which a delivery rate applies, e.g. CA. Currently supported for states in the US and Australia and prefectures in Japan.
  • postcode (optional): The postcode range that a delivery rate applies to, for example in the US, a ZIP code, a ZIP code prefix range using * wildcard, a range of ZIP codes between two ZIP Codes or two ZIP code prefixes of equal length. Examples: 94114, 94*, 94002-95460 or 94*-95*. Currently supported for the US and Australia.
  • location id (optional): The numeric ID of a location that a delivery rate applies to as defined in the AdWords API. Supported location types:
    • US: state and city
    • Australia: state
    • Japan: prefecture
    For example, for San Francisco: 1014221
  • location group name (optional): In your Merchant Center account, locations may be grouped, and each group assigned a name. These group names may then be included in this sub-attribute. For example, several US states may be grouped to form a location group named "East Coast". Currently supported for the US, Australia and Japan.
  • country (optional): The country to which an item will be delivered (as an ISO 3166 country code). The default value for this sub-attribute is your feed's target country.
  • geographical area. There are four sub-attributes supported to specify a geographical area where a delivery rate applies. Only one should be used for each delivery entry.
  • service (optional): The name of the delivery method.
  • price (required): Fixed delivery price.

You can include this attribute up to 100 times per item to specify delivery costs for individual regions. If you decide to submit it explicitly for each part of the country, ensure that you cover each region or specify whether the item has free delivery.

Product Combinations

Google Shopping allows the promotion of product bundles. Product bundles are defined as a combination of different items sold as one combined product. These attributes allow you to submit information about merchant-defined multipacks and merchant-defined bundles

multipack [multipack] – Submit merchant-defined multipacks

Multipacks are packages that include several identical products to create a larger unit of sale, submitted as a single item. Merchant-defined multipacks are custom groups of identical products submitted as a single unit of sale. The 'multipack' attribute indicates the number of identical products in a merchant-defined multipack. Manufacturer-defined multipacks are defined as a package of several individually packed identical items sold as a unit.

When to include: Required if applicable to submit merchant-defined multipacks for all countries except Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, India, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Turkey.

A custom multipack containing 6 bars of soap: The ‘multipack’ attribute should be 6, the unique product identifiers for a single bar of soap should be provided according to the Unique Product Identifier Rules and we recommend that the description should include "multipack" and include the quantity (6).

is bundle [is_bundle] – Submit merchant-defined bundles

Merchant-defined bundles are custom groupings of different products defined by a merchant and sold together for a single price. A bundle features a main item sold with various accessories or add-ons, such as a camera combined with a bag and a lens. The main item of a bundle is the featured product of those items included in the bundle. Since they are defined by the merchant, these bundles as a whole unit typically do not have unique product identifiers. When submitting a merchant-defined bundle, use the 'is bundle' attribute and provide the unique product identifiers corresponding to the main item in the bundle. Using the 'is bundle' attribute for your merchant-defined bundles will allow you to distinguish them from multipacks and other products that contain a main item only.

When to include: Required to submit merchant-defined bundles for all countries except Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, India, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Turkey.

Important:

  • The 'price' attribute must contain the total price for the bundle.
  • When the attribute is not specified, the default value is FALSE.
  • Only use 'is bundle' for bundles that clearly have a main item. For items that do not have a main item, such as a gift basket containing cheese and crackers, do not use the 'is bundle' attribute.
  • The main item of a bundle is the featured product of those items included in the bundle. The additional items should be accessories or add-ons that complement the main item. Examples:
    • For a doll sold with a set of clothes that aren’t packed with the doll, the doll is the main item and the clothes complement it.
    • For a video game console sold with three video games, the video game console is the main item.
  • Mobile phones submitted with a contract must use this attribute.
  • All attributes in your offer should describe the bundle, with the exceptions of 'google product category', 'product type', 'item group ID', variant attributes and the unique product identifiers, all of which should be based on the main item in the bundle.
  • Provide the unique product identifiers for the main item in the bundle, even if your merchant-defined bundle happens to have its own merchant-assigned GTIN or other identifier.
  • Manufacturer-defined bundles have their own unique product identifiers, assigned by the manufacturer, that describe the entire bundle. For such bundles, submit using the unique product identifier that was assigned by the manufacturer describing the entire bundle and don’t provide the ‘is bundle’ attribute.

Other attributes for your bundle:

  • The title and description describe the entire bundle. The image and price must be for the entire bundle.
  • If any item in the bundle is not new, the condition of the entire bundle is the condition of that item. For example, if your bundle is a used camera with new lenses, the condition of the bundle is ‘used’. If a bundle contains both refurbished and used items, the condition of the bundle is 'used'.
  • The unique product identifiers ('brand', 'mpn', 'gtin'), 'product type', 'google product category', 'item group id' and other product variant attributes must be submitted based on the main item in the bundle.
  • If any item in the bundle is considered adult, you must submit the 'adult' attribute for the entire bundle.

Example of a merchant-defined bundle submission:

A custom bundle containing a phone, a case and a replacement battery would have a title and description that describe the entire grouping. The image is a picture that contains all three items, and the price is for the entire bundle. All three items are new, so the condition of the bundle is 'new'. The main item is the phone, so the 'google product category' is 'Electronics > Communications > Telephony > Mobile Phones' and the 'brand' and 'gtin' are for the phone. 'is bundle' is set to TRUE.

Adult Products

Google cares about the family status of the products that you submit in order to make sure that appropriate content is shown to an appropriate audience.

Use the ‘adult’ attribute to indicate that individual products contain nudity or sexually suggestive content, and will be considered “adult”.

adult [adult]

The adult status assigned to your product data through the ‘adult’ attribute affects where product ads can show. For example, "adult" ads aren't allowed to be shown in certain countries or to a certain audience.

If your website generally targets an adult audience and contains adult-orientated content with or without nudity, you are responsible for labelling your site as intended for an adult audience by ticking the tickbox “This site contains adult products as defined by our policy” in the “General settings” section of the Merchant Center account. Where you fail to do so, Merchant Center accounts containing product data considered as "adult" will be suspended.

If your website doesn’t generally target an adult audience but you are promoting some ads containing adult-oriented content with or without nudity, such products should be submitted with an ‘adult’ attribute value set to TRUE. This value indicates that the correlating ad contains “adult” content as defined by our policy. Where you fail to do so, your account will be considered as “adult” and disapproved, and your items will not appear on Google Shopping.

When to include: If you are submitting items that are considered “adult” and would like to label them at the item level for all target countries.

Important:

  • This attribute is a supplement to the option in the General settings tab of Merchant Center to select that your account includes product data that may contain products that will be considered "adult". By using the ‘adult’ attribute, you are acknowledging that individual items, rather than your entire website, may be “adult”.
  • You need to ensure that the landing page being accessed from family-safe products is completely free from adult content.
  • If the tickbox “This site contains adult products as defined by our policy” in the “General settings” section of the Merchant Center account is not ticked and the value of the ‘adult’ attribute is left blank or the attribute is not provided, we will assume that the value of adult is FALSE.

AdWords Attributes

These attributes help you to organise your AdWords campaigns and track the traffic to your website.

adwords redirect [adwords_redirect]

Allows advertisers to specify a separate URL that can be used to track traffic coming from Google Shopping. If this attribute is provided, you must make sure that the URL provided through 'adwords redirect' will redirect to the same website as given in the ‘link’ or ‘mobile link’ attribute.

Custom label attributes for Shopping Campaigns

In a Shopping campaign, you subdivide your products based on existing data from the category, brand, item ID, condition, product type and custom label attributes. You can use custom labels if you want to subdivide the products in your campaign using values of your choice. For example, you can use custom labels to indicate that products are seasonal, on clearance, bestsellers, etc. These values can then be selected to use for monitoring, reporting and bidding in your Shopping campaign. Note

Custom label attributes are only available for Shopping campaigns. For Display with dynamic remarketing campaigns, use the 'adwords labels' and 'adwords grouping' attributes. Learn more about the Display ads attribute specification

You can create up to five custom labels, numbered 0 to 4, for each item in your feed. You may submit one value per item for each custom label attribute. You should assign a specific definition to each of the five custom labels and specify the possible values for each. You can then use these custom labels consistently across the products in your Merchant Center account, assigning appropriate values to each product according to your definition. Each of the five custom labels can only have one value per product.

As custom labels are meant to allow the grouping of items, only 1,000 unique values are supported for each custom label attribute across the items in your account. Products with a custom label submitted after the limit was exceeded won’t be included in product groups using this custom label. To correct the issue, update your product data to reduce the number of unique values for the custom label to less than 1,000.

excluded destination [excluded_destination] – Excluded destinations of your items

The ‘excluded destination’ attribute prevents an item from appearing in certain destinations even though it appears in your product data. This attribute might be useful to you if you have products that you can’t remove from your product data, but you don’t want them to appear to the public. You could also use this attribute if you wanted to include your products in certain campaign types but not others. For example, you want to allow your products to appear in a dynamic re-marketing campaign, but not on Google Shopping.

When to include: You want to exclude the item from a destination.

expiry date [expiration_date] – Date that an item will expire

This is the date when an item listing will expire. If you do not provide this attribute, items will expire and no longer appear in Google Shopping results after 30 days. You cannot use this attribute to extend the expiry period to longer than 30 days.

When to include: If you would like an item to expire earlier than 30 days from the upload date of the feed.

Unit Prices

These attributes allow you to submit pricing for products that rely on unit pricing. You might need to use these attributes to clarify your prices for the following reasons:

  • If your products are typically sold by a quantity of units
  • If your products are required to show the price per unit to comply with regulations. For example, if your products are targeting any of the EU member states or Switzerland, follow the legal requirements defined in the national implementation acts of the EU directive 98/6/EC and any other applicable local law.

If your products don't fit one of these categories, you don't need to use these attributes. Note unit prices and energy labels may not be shown in an ad at the same time if you provide values for both. Unit pricing may not be displayed on every device, including mobile phones and/or tablets. Consider the legal requirements applicable to the country your ads are targeting before submitting your product data to Google Shopping.

unit-pricing measure [unit_pricing_measure]

The 'unit pricing measure' attribute defines the measure and dimension of an item, e.g. 135 ml or 55 g. The unit pricing measure refers to the volume, weight, area, length or count of the product without any packaging or the net drained weight of the product (in the case of food).

For example, if the 'price' is £3, ‘unit pricing measure' is 150 ml, and ‘unit pricing base measure' is 100 ml, the unit price would be £2/100 ml.

When to include: Optional, but you may be required to provide this information based on local laws or regulations. Strongly recommended that you submit unit pricing for applicable products. For example, applicable products could fall under the Hardware, Office Supplies, Food, Beverages and Tobacco categories, including Flooring, Business Cards, Perfume or Beverages.

Important:

  • To display unit prices, submit the total price for the minimum number of items sold using the 'price' attribute, and add unit pricing information to the 'unit pricing measure' and 'unit pricing base measure' attributes. The information you provide will be used to calculate the unit price of the item.
  • The unit price will be rounded to the nearest amount allowed in the local currency and values exactly halfway between two values will be rounded up (e.g. GBP 0.005 will be rounded up to GBP 0.01).
  • The numerical value has to be a positive number. Examples: 1.5 kg, 150 ml, 3 sq m
  • Floz, pt, qt, and gal are interpreted as US imperial units of measure. If you're targeting the UK, don't use these imperial values and instead submit a numeric value with a unit from the metric system to ensure that you're following local laws and regulations.
unit pricing base measure [unit_pricing_base_measure]

The 'unit pricing base measure' attribute specifies your preference of the denominator of the unit price (e.g. 100 ml). You should only submit this attribute if you also submit 'unit pricing measure'.

For example, if the 'price' is £3, ‘unit pricing measure' is 150 ml, and ‘unit pricing base measure' is 100 ml, the unit price would be £2/100 ml.

When to include: Recommended if you also submit the 'unit pricing measure' attribute.

Important:

  • The integer value has to be 1, 10 or 100. Additionally, 75 cl, 750 ml, 50 kg and 1,000 kg are accepted.
  • 'Unit-pricing measure' and 'unit-pricing base measure' have to use the same type of measurement (e.g. you cannot use weight units for one and volume units for the other one).
  • A unit without an integer value is not accepted.
  • We might show a different base measure in your ads to make the unit prices more comparable for all ads shown on the same page.

Energy Labels (EU Countries and Switzerland Only)

This attribute allows you to submit the energy label for your applicable products in feeds targeting European Union countries and Switzerland.

Please note that you should not submit both unit prices and energy labels for an item.

energy efficiency class [energy_efficiency_class]

The 'energy efficiency class' attribute allows you to specify the energy efficiency class for certain product categories as defined in EU Directive 2010/30/EU.

You should only submit the energy efficiency class attribute for specific products that require it to comply with local, state or federal laws applicable to the country that your products are targeting. For example, if your products target any of the EU member states or Switzerland, please consider the legal requirements on this matter defined in the national implementation acts of the EU directive 2010/30/EU and any other applicable local law.

We may not display this product information on every device, including mobile phones and/or tablets. Please consider the legal requirements applicable to the country that your products are targeting before sending your product data to Google Shopping.

When to include: Recommended if applicable for items in feeds targeting an EU country or Switzerland.

Important:

  • Products that might require this attribute include but are not limited to: Refrigerators, freezers, combined washer-driers, wine-storage appliances, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, cookers, water heaters and hot water storage appliances, air conditioning units, electrical lamps, lighting units and televisions.
  • For conventional water heaters, solar water heaters, heat pump water heaters and packages of water heater and solar device, the water heating energy efficiency class should be provided.
  • For reversible air conditioning units, the energy efficiency class for heating (average season) should be provided.

Loyalty Points (Japan Only)

The attribute below only applies to feeds which target Japan. It lets you specify how many and what type of loyalty points the customer receives when buying a product.

loyalty points [loyalty_points] – Loyalty points that users receive after purchasing the item

We only support loyalty points that have specific monetary value. For example, we don’t support mileage, loyalty points that are only exchangeable with goods, etc. Loyalty points have to be issued by you. For example, points associated with credit cards and electronic money are not supported. We do support loyalty programme platforms that support cross-industry points, as long as you issue the points.

When to include: Recommended for items targeting Japan, for which the user gets loyalty points.

This attribute has three parts:

  • name (optional): Name of loyalty points programme. It is recommended to limit the name to 12 full-width characters or 24 roman characters.
  • points value (required): The retailer’s loyalty points in absolute value.
  • ratio (optional): The ratio of a point when converted to currency. Google assumes currency based on Merchant Center settings. If ratio is left out, it defaults to 1.0.

Multiple Instalments (Brazil Only)

The attribute below only applies to feeds that target Brazil. It lets you specify an additional option for users to pay in multiple instalments.

instalment [installment] – Number and amount of instalments to pay for an item.

If you offer multiple options to pay in instalments, you can choose which one to include. The option needs to be visible on the landing page.

When to include: For items submitted to Brazil that can also be paid in multiple instalments.

This attribute has two parts:

  • Months (required): The number of instalments that the buyer has to pay.
  • Amount (required): The amount that the buyer has to pay per month. Include the currency.

  • The instalment option that you include must not require the possession of a loyalty card.

Merchant Promotions Attribute

For retailers using Merchant Promotions, the 'promotion ID' attribute is used in both your products feed and your promotions feed to match products to promotions across the two feeds.

promotion ID [promotion_id]

The unique ID of a promotion. For online promotions that apply to specific products, the 'promotion ID' in your promotions feed should match this attribute in your products feed so that Google knows which products belong to this promotion.

Important:

  • The 'promotion ID' is case sensitive. If you're mapping a specific promotion to a set of products in your products feed, the 'promotion ID' that you provide must match in both feeds.
  • The 'promotion ID' should not contain spaces or symbols (e.g. %, !, etc.).
  • To add multiple 'promotion ID' values to an item, submit the values separated by commas in the 'promotion ID' column in your products feed.
