unit_pricing_base_measure: Definition

The unit_pricing_base_measure attribute lets you include the denominator for your unit price. For example, you might be selling 150ml of perfume, but users are interested in seeing the price per 100ml.

When to use

If you use unit_pricing_measure, then use unit_pricing_base_measure to include the denominator for your unit price. To make the unit prices more comparable for all ads on a page, your ad might show a different base measure than what you provide here.

Follow these guidelines to make sure you submit high-quality data for your products.

Minimum requirements

These are the requirements you'll need to meet to show ads for your product. If you don't follow these requirements, we'll disapprove your product and let you know in the Diagnostics page of your Merchant Center account.

  • Submit unit_pricing_measure to define the measure and dimension of your product. For example, if you submit 3 USD as the value for the price attribute, 150 floz as the value for unit_pricing_measure, and 100 floz as the value for unit_pricing_base_measure, the unit price would be 2 USD for every 100 floz.

Best practices

These are best practices that can help you go beyond the basic requirements to optimize your product data for performance.

  • Use the same type of units as you used for unit_pricing_measure. For example, if you use sqm for unit_pricing_measure, then use sqm for unit_pricing_base_measure.

Additional guidelines

Review each section closely to determine if the requirements apply to your country or product. If you don't follow requirements that apply to you, we'll disapprove your product and let you know in the Diagnostics page of your Merchant Center account.

United Kingdom only
  • Submit metric values when targeting the UK. The imperial units (e.g., floz, pt, qt, gal) are interpreted as US imperial units, which are different than the imperial units used in the UK.
