What is the Admin console?

As a G Suite administrator, the Google Admin console is where you manage all your G Suite services. Use it to add or remove users, manage billing, set up mobile devices, and more.

Note: If you’re on a G Suite trial and need to verify your domain, change your MX records, and set up billing, go to the Setup and deployment site.

Start on the Home page with these features

To get started, sign in to your Admin console.

Feature What you can do with it
Dashboard View insights, notifications, and recommendations about your organization.
Users Add or remove users, put users in organizational units, and assign admin roles to users to help you manage your G Suite services.
Groups Create company-wide groups and mailing lists to collaborate.
Organizational units Place users in different organizational units to apply different policies to them.
Buildings and resources Manage and monitor buildings, rooms, and resources.
Devices Add and manage mobile devices for your organization’s G Suite account.
Apps Manage settings for G Suite apps and services, such as Gmail and Google Calendar.
Security Manage security settings on G Suite—enforce 2-Step Verification, monitor and enforce passwords, and more.
Reports Generate audit reports to see how your users manage and use G Suite services.
Billing Add payment methods, print your invoices, upgrade your G Suite edition, or cancel your subscription.
Account settings Customize your company details and set your G Suite communication preferences. Review and accept compliance agreements (GDPR, HIPAA).
Domains Verify your domain, add a domain alias or other domains, and more.
Data migration Use Google migration tools to import email, calendar events, and contacts.
Support Get support from Google by chat, phone, or email, or search for specific help topics.
Admin roles Add other users as administrators and select their permissions.

Use more advanced features

Here some advanced settings you can use in your Admin console, along with a path to finding them. First, sign in to your Admin console. Then, follow one of the paths below.

Feature What you can do with it
App access control Give external apps more secure access to your G Suite data.

On the Home page, click Menu ""and then Securityand thenAPI Controls.

Communication settings Choose which product news and email updates you want to receive from Google.
From the Admin console Home page, go to Account settingsand thenCommunication preferences.
Custom URLs Create simple, easy-to-remember web addresses for core Google services.
From the Admin console Home page, go to Account settings and thenCustom URLs.
Password requirements Specify the required lengths for your users' passwords.

On the Home page, click Securityand thenBasic settings.
To view the strength of each user's password, click Securityand thenPassword monitoring.

Services Turn services on or off for your users.

  2. Click the type of service:

2-step Verification

Require users to enter a verification code in addition to their username and password when signing in to their account.

From the Admin console Home page, go to Securityand then2-Step Verification.
