How to Set Up Your Google Pixel Watch

What you need to get started
To begin the setup, you need:
- The charging cable included with your watch purchase.
- The Pixel Watch 4 comes with a new charger.
- A Google Account.
Important: To use a Google Workspace account on Pixel Watch, you must turn off 'Device management'. Learn how to manage these Google Workspace account settings. - A compatible Android phone updated to the latest compatible version. Learn about compatibility requirements for your Pixel Watch.
- Your phone is connected to the Internet through Wi-Fi or LTE.
- The latest version of the Google Pixel Watch app

Tip: If you can't find the Google Pixel Watch app in the Google Play Store, make sure that your Google Play Store account address is in a supported country or region.
- Ensure that your phone and watch are sufficiently charged.
- Turn on Bluetooth and allow location permissions on your phone. Manage location permissions for apps.
- Attach your selected band to your watch and adjust the band and size for optimal comfort. Learn how to wear the Google Pixel Watch.
- Install the latest version of the Google Pixel Watch app.
- Turn on your Google Pixel Watch. Press and hold the crown for about three seconds and wait for the screen to light up.
- If your phone supports fast pairing, a message will appear on the screen that signals that the pairing process can begin. Learn more about fast pairing.
- If your phone doesn't support fast pairing, you can open the Google Pixel Watch app
to start the process.
Follow the on-screen instructions in the app and select Google Pixel Watch.
A matching pairing code shows on both the app and watch.
- If the codes match, tap Pair. The pairing process will begin, and can take a few minutes to complete.
- If the codes don't match, restart your device and try again.
- Press and hold the crown for three seconds.
- Scroll down and tap Restart.
- Once the watch restarts, wait until the watch is fully on.
- Bring the phone and watch together again, then retry the pairing process.
If the codes still don't match, go to Fix Pixel Watch setup and phone pairing issues.
- Sign in with your Google Account to continue the setup process.
- Touch the fingerprint scanner on your phone for verification.
- Agree to the Terms of Service.
- Select the country where you purchased the device to check your limited warranty.
You can select a backup to restore from or don't restore to start fresh with your watch.
Select whether you wear your watch on your left or right wrist. Next, select whether the crown is facing left or right.
- Select Start using your watch to complete the setup.
Tip: Your watch will automatically update to the latest version.
- Select Set up more to further personalise your watch. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up:

When your device and watch are successfully connected, 'Connected' will appear in the Google Pixel Watch app. If your device and watch aren't connected, 'Disconnected' will appear on the watch screen.

To use data and texting, you must set up and pair your watch with a compatible phone, and your phone must have an existing phone number and texting provider. Texting also requires the Messages by Google app. 4G data speed is included with the offer up to 500 MB per month, after which usage, data will slow to 256 Kbps. Data will be capped at 1 GB per month. Data is available in the US only. Some features, like location sharing and music streaming, may require you to install supporting applications (such as Google Maps and YouTube Music) on your watch and paired phone.
