Don't see the options described below?
Your network might not be eligible to link accounts.  If you don't already have an Ad Exchange account, contact a sales representative or work with a DoubleClick partner to create an account.
  1. Sign in to DoubleClick for Publishers.
  2. Click Admin and then Global settings.
  3. Click Link an AdSense account or Link an Ad Exchange account.   Not available in every network.
    • Enter the web property code. This is the code associated with your AdSense or Ad Exchange account, also known as your Publisher ID.
To find your web property code, sign into your AdSense or Ad Exchange account, navigate to the Admin tab, then click Account information. Your web property code will be listed next to "Publisher ID."

When entering your property code into DFP, add a prefix to define the property type:

      • For display, add "ca-" Example: ca-pub-1234567890
      • For mobile apps, add "ca-mb-app-" Example: ca-mb-app-pub-1234567890
      • For video, add "ca-video-" Example: ca-video-pub-1234567890
    • Enter a display name for the web property. The display name is used to select the AdSense or Ad Exchange web property when you create a line item.
    • Enter your AdSense or Ad Exchange contact email address. This should be the same email address you use to sign in to AdSense or Ad Exchange.
    • Enter account validation information. You can enter either the postal code or the last five digits of the phone number associated with your AdSense or Ad Exchange billing information.
    • Click Save. DoubleClick for Publishers will take a moment to validate the link. If successful, the new network will be displayed in the "Linked accounts" section in "Pending" status.
  4. Enable the link to DFP in AdSense or Ad Exchange, using the instructions below.

Product link statuses

  • Active: This DFP account can use slot selection when creating backfill creatives because the association with this account has been validated.

What's the difference between my primary and linked Ad Exchange accounts?

More than one Ad Exchange account can be linked to DFP, but only one is your primary account.

  • Primary Ad Exchange account
Ad Exchange accounts are now managed in DFP instead of a separate interface. The settings and reporting from your primary Ad Exchange account appear within the DFP user interface and are used for select DoubleClick for Publishers features, such as DFP First Look and Exchange Bidding. Your primary account is also known as your “mapped” or “unified” account.
Your primary Ad Exchange account can only be used to fill inventory if it's also added in the "Linked accounts" section. Only the primary account can be marked as "Default for dynamic allocation".
  • Linked Ad Exchange accounts
These are secondary Ad Exchange accounts that can be added for use in line items, if you want to use different Ad Exchange accounts than your primary account to backfill inventory. We recommend using one Ad Exchange account for each DFP network. AdSense and DoubleClick Bid Manager accounts can also be linked.

Settings for linked Ad Exchange accounts

Below are the settings that can be configured for Ad Exchange accounts linked to DFP. Click edit next to the linked Ad Exchange account to modify its settings.

  • Default for dynamic allocation
Only your primary Ad Exchange account can be marked as the default for dynamic allocation. Once enabled, this account is used for yield group delivery, programmatic guaranteed, First Look, and any other feature where Ad Exchange is delivered without an Ad Exchange line item.
  • Display name
This name is intended to help traffickers in your DFP network. This name does not need to match the official name of your Ad Exchange account.
  • Audience segments sharing
If your network uses DFP Audience, you can choose to share DFP first-party segments for use by your Ad Exchange account. Third-party segments cannot be shared. Learn more
