How many accounts can I get? Do I need to remove inactive users?

G Suite for Education accounts provide 10,000 user licenses. You don’t have to remove inactive users.

How much storage do users get with G Suite for Education?

Each user has unlimited storage for Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. If there are 4 or fewer users in your organization, each user gets 1 TB of storage.

What is the uptime for Google Workspace services?

Google Workspace Core Services are guaranteed to be available at least 99.9% of the time. For more information, refer to the Google Workspace Service Level Agreement.

What's the difference between G Suite for Education and Enterprise for Education?

G Suite Enterprise for Education includes all Education features plus premium tools for security, data control, teaching, and communication.

Who qualifies for G Suite for Education? Can homeschools use G Suite for Education? (US only) Are nonprofit organizations eligible for G Suite for Education?

Nonprofit organizations that are not educational institutions can only apply for G Suite for Nonprofits. For more information, refer to Nonprofit Management Resources.

How long does it take to be approved for G Suite for Education?
Approval requests are typically resolved within 14 business days. Review the sign-up process for K–12 or higher institutions.

How do I sign up?

To sign up for G Suite for Education, go to the sign-up page. You can sign up yourself or contact the Sales team.

Can existing email data be migrated to G Suite for Education? Can my school's existing authentication system integrate with G Suite for Education?

Yes, Google Workspace offers SAML single sign-on (SSO) to integrate with your authentication system. Google Workspace also offers a code library for reference. For details, go to Set up SSO via a third party Identity provider.

How do I train faculty and students how to use G Suite for Education?

What happens if I have a problem?

How secure is G Suite for Education? What scanning or indexing of user data occurs with G Suite for Education?

G Suite for Education does not collect student data for advertising purposes.

We scan Gmail to keep users’ mail secure. Scanning includes virus and spam protection and is 100% automated. We scan all incoming email, relevant search results, and features, such as Gmail Priority Inbox. For more details, go to the Google Safety Center.

Are there ads with G Suite for Education?

Advertisements are turned off for G Suite for Education Core Services. And, users don't see ads in Google Search when signed in with their G Suite for Education accounts.

How do I monitor, filter, or archive mail with G Suite for Education?

Schools can filter, monitor, and archive mail using Gmail advanced settings. For details, go to Advanced Gmail settings reference for admins.

US only—Can G Suite for Education be used in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998?

Yes. We contractually require that schools using G Suite for Education get the parental consent required by COPPA. Our services can be used in compliance with COPPA as long as a school has parental consent. Learn more
