How many accounts can I get with G Suite? Do I need to remove inactive users?

G Suite for Education accounts provide 10,000 user licenses. You don’t have to remove inactive users.

How much storage do users get with G Suite for Education?

Each user has unlimited storage for Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. If there are 4 or fewer users in your organization, each user gets 1 TB of storage.

What is the uptime for G Suite services?

Gmail, Google Calendar, Hangouts, Drive, and Sites are guaranteed to be available at least 99.9% of the time. For more information, see the G Suite Service Level Agreement.

How do I sign up?

How long does it take to set up G Suite for my users?

On average, it takes 6 weeks to set up G Suite for your organization.

Can my school's existing authentication system integrate with G Suite?

Yes, G Suite offers SAML single sign-on (SSO) to integrate with your authentication system. G Suite also offers an extensive code library for your reference while setting this up. For details, see Set up SSO using 3rd party IdPs.

How do I train faculty and students how to use G Suite for Education?

What scanning or indexing of user data occurs with G Suite for Education?

G Suite for Education does not collect student data for advertising purposes.

We scan Gmail to keep users’ mail secure. Scanning includes virus and spam protection and is 100% automated. We scan all incoming email, relevant search results, and features, such as Gmail Priority Inbox. For more information, see Google Safety Center.

Are there ads with G Suite for Education?

In all educational domains, advertisements are turned off for G Suite for Education services. And, users don't see ads in Google Search when signed in with their G Suite for Education accounts.

How do I monitor, filter, or archive mail with G Suite for Education?

Schools can filter, monitor, and archive mail using Gmail advanced settings. See Tailor Gmail settings for your organization.

Or, you can set up a gateway for your school to route mail through our system. If you don’t want to do it yourself, we have partners who can do it for you. For details, see Set up an inbound mail gateway and Marketplace partners.

Can G Suite for Education be used in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998?

Yes. We contractually require that schools using G Suite for Education get the parental consent required by COPPA. Our services can be used in compliance with COPPA as long as a school has parental consent. For more details, see COPPA.

Can G Suite for Education be used in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)?

Yes. G Suite for Education core services comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
