Google Workspace for Education is a set of Google tools and services that are tailored for schools and homeschools. It is available to all educational institutions that qualify.

Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals is free to qualified educational institutions. Google Workspace for Education Standard, Education Plus, and Teaching and Learning Upgrade are paid subscriptions. For details, go to the Google Workspace for Education website.

Education Fundamentals provides 10,000 user licenses. However, you can add more users if you need them. For details, go to Request additional Education accounts.
For Education Standard, Teaching and Learning Upgrade, and Education Plus, you get the number of licenses you pay for.
In all editions, your school gets 100 TB of pooled storage. For Education Plus and Teaching and Learning Upgrade, you get additional storage based on the number of licenses that you purchase.
Note: Schools with more than 20,000 students, faculty, and staff can request additional storage.

SecurityHow secure is Google Workspace for Education?
Google Workspace for Education does not collect student data for advertising purposes.
We scan Gmail to keep users’ mail secure. Scanning includes virus and spam protection and is 100% automated. We scan all incoming email, relevant search results, and features, such as Gmail Priority Inbox. For details, go to the Google Safety Center.
Advertisements are turned off for Google Workspace for Education core services. And, users don't see ads in Google Search when signed in with their Google Workspace for Education accounts.
Schools can filter, monitor, and archive mail using Gmail advanced settings. For details, go to Advanced Gmail settings reference for admins.

Yes. We contractually require that schools using Google Workspace for Education get the parental consent required by COPPA. Our services can be used in compliance with COPPA as long as a school has parental consent. Learn more
