Upload YouTube videos

New advanced feature on YouTube: Starting from 17 August 2023, edit your Shorts to include a link to one other video from your own channel. The link will be visible in the Shorts player and help direct viewers from your Shorts to your other YouTube content. Videos, Shorts and Live content can be linked. The video that you select has to be public or unlisted, and not violating our Community Guidelines. This change will be rolled out gradually and may not be available to all channels or viewers until the feature is completely rolled out.

You can upload videos to YouTube in a few easy steps. Use the instructions below to upload your videos from a computer or from a mobile device. Uploading may not be available with supervised experiences on YouTube. Learn more here.

When you upload a video, the video file is imported to YouTube.
When you publish a video, the video is available for anyone with access to watch it.
Upload vertical videos
When you upload your video, YouTube will work out the best way to display the content. For the best experience, don't add black bars to the sides of your vertical video. Whether the video is vertical, square or horizontal, it will fit the screen.
