Report on Adobe Analytics data

Add Adobe Analytics metrics to Search Ads 360

After you add an Adobe Analytics report suite to your Search Ads 360 advertiser, you can add Adobe Analytics metrics for reporting and automated bidding in Search Ads 360.

Special permissions required

Because adding Adobe Analytics metrics to Search Ads 360 creates Floodlight activities, your user account needs all of the following permissions:

Add metrics from a report suite

  1. In Search Ads 360, navigate to an advertiser.
Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Advertiser settings.

Don't see Advertiser settings? Only Search Ads 360 agency managers or advertiser managers can see Advertiser settings in the left navigation panel.

  3. Click the Integrations▼ tab and select Adobe Analytics integration.

  4. From the Report suite column in the reporting table, click the name of a report suite.
The table contains one row for each report suite you've added to your Search Ads 360 advertiser.

  5. To add a metric that counts the number of conversions:
    1. Above the reporting table, click New▼ and select Counter.
    2. In the Name in Search Ads 360 field, enter a name for the metric.
Search Ads 360 will use this name to automatically create an action Floodlight activity. The name will appear alongside other Floodlight activities in your advertiser. Learn more about Floodlight activities and Adobe Analytics metrics.

If you view the details for this Floodlight activity, you'll see that the Primary source is offline setting is selected. The setting informs any bid strategies targeting the activity that the activity's data is updated on a periodic basis instead of as each conversion occurs.

    3. Click Choose a counter metric and select a metric from the report suite.
The list contains all metrics in the report suite that Adobe Developer Connection makes available.
  6. To report revenue recorded by a report suite, you need to add two Adobe Analytics metrics (one to report the number of transactions and another to report revenue from each transaction):
    1. Above the reporting table, click New▼ and select Revenue.
    2. In the Name in Search Ads 360 field, enter a name.
Search Ads 360 will use this name when it creates a transaction Floodlight activity. The activity can report both the number of transactions and the amount of revenue, and will appear alongside other Floodlight activities in your advertiser.

If you view the details for this Floodlight activity, you'll see that the Primary source is offline setting is selected. The setting informs any bid strategies targeting the activity that the activity's data is updated on a periodic basis instead of as each conversion occurs.

    3. Click Choose a revenue metric, then select a metric that reports revenue from a specific transaction on your site.
For example, select a metric that tracks the amount of revenue in each shopping cart purchase.
    4. Click Choose a counter metric and select a metric that reports the number of times the specific transaction occurs.
For example, select a metric that counts the number of times users purchase items from a shopping cart.
  7. Click Save.

Changing the metric type in Search Ads 360

If you add a metric as an action metric and then later want to change to a metric that reports revenue, you need to remove the original metric from Search Ads 360. Then you can add a new revenue metric.

The same is true if you want to change a revenue metric to an action metric: remove the original metric and add a new one that specifies the new type you want to use.

Next steps

Use Adobe Analytics data in reports or bid strategies.
Wait a day after adding a report suite and metrics before reporting on Adobe Analytics data. It may take a full day for Search Ads 360 to start importing reporting data from Adobe Analytics.
