In this help center, you can find content for both Merchant Center Next and the classic Merchant Center experience. Look for the logo at the top of each article to make sure you're using the article for the Merchant Center version that applies to you. 

How to fix: Missing sale information

Submit both sale attributes (sale price [sale_price], sale price effective date [sale_price_effective_date])

Only one of the following attributes has been provided: sale price [sale_price] and sale price effective date [sale_price_effective_date]. These two attributes must be provided together or not at all. As a result, the item has not been uploaded.

To fix this issue, upload both attributes together.


Note: This issue only affects online inventory update feeds and does not apply to product data feeds.

Instructions

Step 1: See the affected products

  1. Sign in to your Merchant Center account.
  2. Click Products on the navigation menu, then click Feeds.
  3. Select a feed you want to review to see the current issues affecting your feed.
  4. Click the Processing tab to see basic file and data issues affecting your products.
  5. Click on the error message “Invalid or missing recommended attribute” for either sale price [sale_price] or sale price effective date [sale_price_effective_date] under “Issue” to view further details.

To download a report of basic processing issues:
  • Click DOWNLOAD REPORT above the table of issues.

Step 2: Submit both sale attributes

  1. Filter the downloaded report so that you only see products with:
    “Issue title” = Missing sale information
  2. Search your product data for those products (using the ID), and make sure each product has both attributes submitted: sale price [sale_price] and sale price effective date [sale_price_effective_date].

Step 3: Resubmit your product data

  1. After you’ve updated your product data, resubmit it using one of these methods:
  2. Check that you’ve fixed the issue by making sure it’s no longer listed on the Processing tab of the Feeds page.

    Keep in mind: It may take some time for your changes to be reflected on the Feeds page.
