Note: Products with the installment [installment] attribute are not eligible for cross-border trade and can have only one targeted country.

Use the installment [installment] attribute to tell customers the details of a monthly installment payment plan that you offer.

When to use

This attribute is only available in certain countries:

Africa: South Africa
Asia-Pacific: Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand
Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom
Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru
Middle East: Israel, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates
North America: Canada, United States

Australia: This attribute should not be used for wireless devices such as mobile phones or tablets advertised in Australia. Use the price [price] attribute to specify the minimum total cost ("Minimum Quantifiable Price") of the device, including down payment, installment payments, and wireless subscription plan. Use the title [title] attribute to indicate that the device is payable in installments.

Outside Latin America: The price [price] attribute (as low as 0) will be treated as the up-front payment (including any device down payment and activation fees), and the installment [installment] attribute will account for recurring monthly installment payments for your wireless device. Costs associated with a wireless subscription plan can also be added using the subscription cost [subscription_cost] attribute.

This attribute is only available for mobile products with the following Google product category codes:

Watches (201)
Mobile Phone (267)
Tablet Computers. (4745)
Mobile Phone Prepaid Cards & SIM Cards (6030)
GPS Tracking Devices (6544)

Latin America countries only: Installment payment plans are supported for all product categories. An offer that uses the installment [installment] attribute is treated as an offer where the product can be purchased by either paying the price up-front or paying in installments. Use the price [price] attribute to provide the full payment amount and the installment attribute to indicate alternative installment payments and frequency.

This attribute uses 2 sub-attributes:

Months [months] (Required)
Integer, the number of installments the buyer has to pay.
Amount [amount] (Required)
ISO 4217, the amount the buyer has to pay per month.

Minimum requirements

These are the requirements you'll need to meet to show your product. If you don't follow these requirements, we'll disapprove your product and let you know in your Merchant Center account.

Match the installment plan that you display on your landing page. You can also display other installment options on your landing page, but the plan that you submit must be straightforward to find on the landing page.
Don’t require that users have a loyalty card in order to choose the installment option that you submit.
Avoid using the installment attribute for software subscriptions. Software subscriptions must be prepaid, and submit the yearly prepaid cost using the price [price] attribute.
Activation fees should not be included in the price attribute for products sold in the US. Subscription plans are not supported in the US.
Use in approved countries only. Use of the installment [installment] attribute in unapproved countries will result in disapproval of your product.
Use for approved product categories only. Use of the installment [installment] attribute for other categories of products will result in disapproval of your product.

Best practices

These best practices can help you go beyond the basic requirements to optimize your product data for performance.

Submit exact values for your installment costs in accordance with ISO 4217. For example, submit 1.01 MXN instead of 1.0012 MXN, otherwise we will round the submitted value.
If your product is combined with a subscription cost plan, submit the same number of months for the subscription cost [subscription_cost] attribute as for the installment [installment] attribute. If the number of months is different and we need to combine your installment payment and subscription cost amounts due to space constraints, then we use the highest of the two values. For example, if your installment plan is 12 months, but your subscription contract is 24, then we will use 24 months.

Note: The subscription cost [subscription_cost] attribute is not supported in all countries.
If the installment amount for your product increases after a certain period of time, you must submit the highest monthly cost in the “amount” sub-attribute. For example, if the installment amount increases from 20 USD to 40 USD after 6 months, then specify 40 USD.

Submit a total value for the down payment (as low as 0) in the price [price] attribute and include any activation fees and/or one-time charges. Submit zero in the price [price] attribute if there are no up-front costs. Specify in your title that your wireless product requires a subscription plan of a certain duration and installment payments. Learn more about the price attribute.

Note: The subscription cost [subscription_cost] is not available in the US or Latin America.
