Zero-touch enrollment

ChromeOS zero-touch enrollment is an alternative to manually enrolling devices, where a pre-provisioning partner (device manufacturer, distributor or reseller) sends instructions to Google to automatically enroll a ChromeOS device into a customer’s organization after a device is turned on and connected to the internet.

For a step-by-step guide, watch the video:

Before you begin

To enroll using Kiosk & Signage Upgrade, ChromeOS devices must be running version 104 or later.

What you need

  • A compatible ChromeOS device.
Note: For ChromeOS Flex devices, use Flex automatic enrollment instead. Zero-touch enrollment is not compatible with ChromeOS Flex. For details, see Automatically enroll ChromeOS Flex devices.
  • A pre-provisioning token and customer ID generated from the Google Admin console.
Note: You can generate a pre-provisioning token using the reseller console only after the customer accepts the terms of service.
  • An approved pre-provisioning partner to assist with enrollment.
  • Available Chrome Enterprise, Education, or Non-Profit upgrades. Learn about managing upgrades.

Note: ChromeOS devices bundled with Chrome Enterprise Upgrade include a Chrome Enterprise Upgrade associated with the device and do not use a separate Chrome Enterprise Upgrade for enrollment.
