Migration tools for larger imports

If you have many users or currently use Microsoft® Exchange, you can use one tool or a combination of tools to migrate mail, contacts, and calendars to your new G Suite account. The tools you use depend on where you're moving data from and what type of data you want to move.

Need simpler options? If you're an individual user or have fewer than 20 users in your organization, see simple import options.

Migrate emails

We recommend using the data migration service for migrating emails. The data migration service lets you easily migrate your users' mail to G Suite in the Google Admin console without installing a client, such as G Suite Migration for Microsoft Exchange. Setup is simple, and most mail server connections can be made automatically.

Note: These tools migrate an individual user’s contacts but don't migrate shared contacts, which contain the contact information for anyone outside your organization, such as consultants, contractors, and customers. If you want to migrate shared contacts, consider using Google Cloud Directory Sync or a third-party tool in the G Suite Marketplace.

Migrate calendars

We recommend using the data migration service for migrating calendar events from Microsoft Exchange. Setup is simple, and most mail server connections can be made automatically. You can migrate the calendar events of one or multiple users.

Need to import other types of data?

Migrate to Google Drive: To migrate data to Drive in a new G Suite account, you need to use a third-party tool from the G Suite Marketplace, even if you're migrating from an existing G Suite account. For details, see How to move your files to Google Drive. Individual users can also migrate their own files to Drive. For details, see migrating from a G Suite account

Migrate and synchronize directory data: Use Google Cloud Directory Sync to automatically add, modify, and delete users, groups, and non-employee contacts. Google Cloud Directory Sync synchronizes the data in your G Suite domain with your LDAP directory server. Learn more about GCDS.

Third-party tools: There are various tools in the G Suite Marketplace that might help you migrate your data. You can search by topic and product name. Learn more about how to Deploy Marketplace apps.
