A T-Mobile system update is preventing some T-Mobile Android phones from making outbound calls through certain applications (including Google Voice). If you don't hear "This call is being placed by Google" on an international/paid call, your call will be connected through your carrier. Read more information here.

Buy Google Voice credit

If you're calling from the United States and Canada to a number within those countries, almost all calls are free, but a few destinations will cost USD 1 cent per minute depending on the specific phone number. The 1-cent rate may vary depending on the local currency. You can look up the cost through the calling credit page for your Google account

From all other countries, calls to the U.S. and Canada will cost USD 1 cent per minute. The 1-cent rate may vary depending on the local currency. You also can make calls to destinations outside of the U.S. and Canada with low international rates.

Add credit to your Google Voice account

  1. Go to Google Voice.
  2. Next to “Credit” on the left side of your inbox, click the + sign. Or on the "Billing" tab of your Google Voice Settings, click Add credit.
  3. Enter your credit card and billing information to pay with your Google Account.
  4. Once you complete your purchase, you'll get a verification message with the purchase details via email.

You may see an additional $1.00 transaction from Google, which is a pending authorization request to ensure your card is valid and has sufficient funds; it is not an actual charge.

You can have a maximum of $70.00 credit at one time.

If you experience problems when purchasing Google Voice credit, please visit the billing troubleshooter.
