Type column (Custom Floodlight variables)

Determines whether a custom Floodlight variable can be used to report a metric, to filter a Floodlight column, or segment or group reports.

A custom Floodlight variable can be set to one of the following types in Search Ads 360, depending on the Campaign Manager 360 type:

• Metric: The variable can be added to a custom Floodlight column, where the variable’s value will be aggregated.
• Dimension: The variable can be added to a custom Floodlight column and used as a filter. The variable can also be used as reporting dimension or as a way to segment reports.

You can switch a custom Floodlight variable's Search Ads 360 type if:

• The Campaign Manager 360 type is Number
• The variable is not currently being used by a Floodlight column in Search Ads 360

1. Navigate to an advertiser.

2. In the left navigation panel, click Advertiser settings.
   
   Don't see Advertiser settings? Only Search Ads 360 agency managers or advertiser managers can see Advertiser settings in the left navigation panel. 

3. Click the Floodlight▼ tab and select Custom Floodlight variables.
