Group reporting data by dimensions

About the Dimensions tab

The Dimensions tab enables you to go beyond the typical hierarchical reporting from engines and choose the way you look at the performance metrics for an advertiser. For example, you can organize metrics by keyword landing page URLs across all engine accounts. Once you've selected a dimension, you can segment the dimensions report to drill down and uncover subtleties in the data that may reveal deeper insights.

Example: View conversions per week from last quarter across all campaigns and ad groups

You can use dimensions to view the total number of Floodlight conversions that occurred last quarter for all campaigns and ad groups in an advertiser. Then you can segment the dimensions view to see how many conversions occurred each week during the last quarter.

  1. Navigate to an advertiser.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the Agency list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the Advertiser list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. From the View list that appears below tab, select Actions.

Instead of changing the view, you can add the Actions column to the current view.
You'll need to select the Actions view or add the Actions column to the current view to enable action-related dimensions.

  3. In the date range list, which appears in the upper right of the page, select Last quarter.

  4. Click on the Dimensions tab and select Floodlight activity.

  5. Click the Segment: floodlight activity button, which appears above the performance summary graph.

  6. In the + Segment list, select Weeks. Then click Apply.

For each of the advertiser's Floodlight activities that recorded conversions last quarter, the reporting table displays one row for each week in the last quarter. Each row reports the number of conversions that occurred for the Floodlight activity during a specific week.

Known issues

When you download a report from the Dimensions tab:

  • Some extra columns will appear (such as Row type) in the downloaded report. You can ignore these columns.

  • In the Match type dimension, if one of the keywords has an unknown match type, you may see an additional row in the downloaded report.

  • Any table sorts you specify in the UI will not carry over to the downloaded report.
