Get started with the local feeds partnership programme as a data provider

Use this guide to join the local feeds partnership programme as a point of sale (POS)/inventory data provider. Learn more about local inventory ads (LIA) and free local listings.

Point of sale (POS) and inventory data provider requirements

To join the local feeds partnership programme, you need to meet these requirements:

  • Sales feed: Send daily sales details for each participating shop.
  • Inventory feed: Send daily inventory data for each participating shop.
  • Shop feed (optional): If you don't know the retailer's Business Profile shop codes, you must be able to send a mapping of your internal shop codes to the shop addresses for each participating shop.
Note: In order to implement the local feeds partnership programme, you're required to upload either an inventory feed or a sales feed. You can also upload both feeds and use them in combination.

Merchant eligibility requirements

To join the local feeds partnership programme, your merchant needs to meet these requirements:

  • Shop: At least one physical shop with at least 11 identifiable products. Learn more about unique product identifiers.
  • Local inventory ads: Merchant must not already be using the local inventory ads feature to show their local products on Google.
  • POS/inventory data providers: Merchant must authorise you to provide their shops' sales and inventory data to Google.
  • Inventory verification: Merchant must be willing to allow Google to perform in-store inventory verifications in a subset of their shops.
Note: Inventory verification isn't required if your merchant implements the merchant-hosted local shop front (full) or the merchant-hosted local shop front (basic) features.
