Store pickup

Eligibility

To use the store pickup feature, you must have live local inventory ads. In addition, for each product that you opt-in to store pickup, you must offer same day or next day pickup from the time the order is placed.

Implementation options

The store pickup feature is compatible with merchants running on Google Hosted Local Storefront (GHLSF),  as well as on Merchant Hosted Local Storefront (MHLSF) Full or Basic.

Here’s how the process works:

Feature Type User experience Shopping annotation displayed
GHLSF Clicking on a local inventory ad leads to a Google-hosted local storefront where the user clicks on the "Click & collect" option and is redirected to visit your website to complete their order using the store pickup as the checkout option. Users will be shown a distance (e.g. “3.5 mi”) annotation plus pickup availability text which shows the distance to a store where they can pick up the item purchased online.
MHLSF Full Clicking on a local inventory ad redirects to a product landing page that displays an item’s availability at a specific store and offers the option to buy it online and pick it up at a store nearby. Users will be shown a distance (e.g. “3.5 mi”) annotation plus pickup availability text which shows the distance to a store where they can pick up the item purchased online.
MHLSF Basic Clicking on a local inventory ad will redirect to a product landing page where shoppers can select a store to view the clicked item’s price/availability, buy it online and pick it up at a store nearby. Users will be shown the “Store Pickup”” annotation which communicates that the item is available to buy online and pick it up at a store nearby.
