Order options for Chrome Enterprise

For administrators who manage Chrome devices for a business or school.

To use Chrome Enterprise with Chromebooks and other devices that run Chrome OS, you can purchase Chromebook Enterprise devices. If you have standalone Chromebooks, you need to purchase a subscription to Chrome Enterprise Upgrade or Chrome Education Upgrade for each device you want to manage.

See below for service and order options as well as details on how to purchase upgrades.

Available upgrade terms

How you pay for upgrades depends on what type you order.

Annual

Chrome Enterprise Upgrade

  • Bought per order term and can be renewed when the term ends.
    • I got Chrome Enterprise Upgrade using the Admin console—Add your billing information to your subscription in the Admin console to automatically renew upgrades at the end of each term. If you opt out of automatic renewal or don’t add your billing information, you’ll have to manually renew upgrades when the term ends.
    • I have upgrades with an authorized partner—When the term ends, you need to manually renew upgrades from your authorized partner.
  • Currently, there is no flexible plan available.
  • You can unenroll a device and transfer the upgrade to another device (of any model) in the same domain.
  • You can't transfer an upgrade to a device in another domain.
  • If you purchase additional upgrades mid-term, the cost is prorated and the new upgrade expires at the same time as your original order.

Perpetual

Chrome Education Upgrade, Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, and Chrome Nonprofit Upgrade

  • Covers the life of the device it's enrolled to.
  • If you encounter a hardware issue and need to replace a device, you can transfer the upgrade to another device of the same model (or equivalent manufacturer-provided replacement).

I already have upgrades

If you already have Chromebook Enterprise devices or upgrades for standalone Chrome devices, the type of upgrade that's available to you can vary.

I got upgrades in the Admin console

If you ordered Chrome Enterprise Upgrade using your Admin console, you’re an online direct customer.  You can manage your Chrome Enterprise Upgrade order and purchase up to 50 annual upgrades for standalone Chrome devices using the Google Admin console. For example, you can increase or reduce upgrade count, cancel your trial or order, and update payment methods.
Chrome Enterprise Upgrade perpetual upgrades and other types of Chrome services aren't available to you. If you want to purchase another Chrome service, you have to switch to an authorized partner.

I have upgrades with an authorized partner

If you use an authorized partner, the upgrade type and term you can get depends on your agreement with the reseller. You can’t manage your order using the Admin console. But, you can manage upgrade usage by enrolling and deprovisioning devices in the Admin console.
  • If you can see your partner's contact information in the Admin console's Billing section, you're an online resold customer. You can only purchase Chrome Enterprise annual upgrades. Chrome Enterprise Upgrade perpetual upgrades and other types of Chrome services aren't available to you. If you have the G Suite service or want to purchase it, you need to have all your services and subscriptions with the same authorized partner.
  • If you can’t see your partner’s contact information in the Admin console's Billing section, you’re an offline resold customer. You can purchase any type of Chrome service. Your organization might have more than one authorized partner.

To get to the Billing section in the Admin console:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Billing.
