Your photos won’t show on Google until you verify your business.
Types of photos
There are several types of photos you can add to your Business Profile:
- Logo: Help your customers recognize your business on Google. For businesses that have their basic information, such as a phone number or hours of operation, the Business Profile highlights the logo.
- Cover photo: Set a cover photo at the top of your profile that best represents your business. In some instances, this action doesn’t guarantee the cover photo will show up as the first image for your business.
- Business photos: Add different photos to highlight features of your business to attract and inform customers. Learn more about business photos.
Add photos or videos
You can add photos of your storefront, products, and services.
After you choose the photos or videos you want to add to your Google My Business listing, make sure of the following:
- Photos and videos follow our content policies.
- Photos are in either JPG or PNG format.
- Photos are the correct size.
- Videos follow our guidelines.
Businesses with 10 or more locations can upload photos via spreadsheet.
Add a photo or video
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google My Business app
.
- In the bottom right, tap Post
Add photos/videos.
- Tap Add photo or video.
- Choose the photo or video you want to add from your camera roll, or take a new one.
- Optional: You can add a description for your photos.
- Tap Upload.
Add a photo from Google Maps
If you’re an owner or manager of a business that has one or more verified locations, you can add photos directly from your Business Profile on the Google Maps app:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app

- Make sure you're logged in with the account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
- To open your Business Profile, in the top right, tap Account Circle
Your Business Profile.
- Tap Promote
Add photos.
- Choose and add your photo.
You can find your uploaded photos on your Business Profile immediately.
Add a photo or video from Google Search
- On your Android phone or tablet, make sure you're logged in with the account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
- To find your Business Profile, search on Google for your exact business name. You can also search for “my business.”
- If you need to update your profile, tap View profile.
- Tap Promote
Add Photos.
- Choose and add your photo.
Add a cover photo or logo
Important: Hotels and chains are not eligible for logo photos.
Select a distinctive profile image to show up next to posts or review responses.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google My Business app
.
- In the bottom right, tap Post
Add photos/videos.
- Tap Add photo or video. Choose the type of photo or video you want to add from your camera roll, or take a new one.
- Optional: You can add a description for your photos.
- Tap Upload

- Choose the photo want to set as cover or logo.
- In the top right corner of the photo, tap More
.
- To add or edit a logo photo: Tap Set as logo.
- To add or edit a cover photo: Tap Set as cover photo.
- Tap Upload.
If your logo photo doesn't appear, make sure you've entered all of the necessary info in Google My Business. This includes:
- Name
- Valid location with a street address
- Categories
- Phone number
- Opening hours
Remove photos
You can remove photos from your Business Profile. If customer photos violate content guidelines or the law, you can flag them to request removal.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google My Business app
.
- Tap Profile, then tap Photos.
- Tap Menu

Photo & video guidelines
Make sure your photos and videos follow Google’s guidelines and requirements, and comply with Google’s content policy.
Photo guidelinesYour photos look best on Google if they meet the following standards:
- Format: JPG or PNG.
- Size: Between 10 KB and 5 MB.
- Recommended resolution: 720 px tall, 720 px wide.
- Minimum resolution: 250 px tall, 250 px wide.
- Quality: The photo should be in focus and well lit, and have no significant alterations or excessive use of filters. In other words, the image should represent reality.
Make sure your videos meet the following requirements:
- Duration: Up to 30 seconds long
- File size: Up to 75 MB
- Resolution: 720p or higher
