Want to set the user role to Manager? You can this in the Groups for Business service.
Change access level settings for a group

A group's access level setting determines which permissions apply to each group role—that is owners, managers, and members. To edit the access level settings, the Groups for Business service must either be installed and turned on, or uninstalled. You cannot edit the access settings when Groups for Business is installed but turned off.

If Groups for Business is installed and turned on:

  1. Click Access Settings. You'll be taken to the group's Access permissions page in your Groups for Business service.
  2. Select the access permissions you want to use.
  3. Click Save.

If Groups for Business is uninstalled:

  1. Click Role and Permissions.
  2. Select the access setting you want to use.
  3. Click Save changes.
Set basic permissions for a group

If Groups for Business is on, you can set basic permissions for a group via the Groups for Business service. These permissions determine who can join, post, and view topics in a group.

Change a group's name and description

Go to the group's page in your Admin console.

  1. In the Admin console, select the group whose name you want to change.
  2. Click icon for changing group info.
  3. Change the group's name or description.
  4. Click Save group info.
Change a group's email address

To change the group's email address via the Admin console:

  1. Select the group whose email address you want to change.
  2. Click icon for changing group info.
  3. Change the Group email field. You can update both the user name and domain name of the group.
  4. Click Save group info.

If you change a group's email address via the Admin console:

  • The original email address is retained as an alias, so email messages sent to the original address continue to be delivered.
  • The web address (URL) for the group, (including its discussion archive) is changed, so the group can no longer be accessed at its original URL.

If Groups for Business is on, you can also change the group's email address via the Groups for Business service. If you use the Groups for Business service to change the group's email address, email messages sent to the original address are not delivered. To allow members to continue to receive messages addressed to the group's original address, create another group with that address, and then add the group's new address as a member. Messages sent to the original address will then be forwarded to the new address.
