Notifications on watch no longer appearing

Hello there,

The notifications on my Huawei Watch stopped working a few days ago, but I can't figure out why. Since then, I've been unable to restore the watch notifications, no matter what I try. Here's what I've attempted to do:
  • I've disabled the "Do Not Disturb" option on my phone.
  • I've unmuted my phone.
  • I've disabled "Theater Mode" on the watch.
  • I've checked that my apps are not blocked inside the Android Wear app settings.
  • I've checked that the Android Wear app on my phone is allowed to display notifications.
  • I've checked that the Android Wear app on my phone is allowed to access/read notifications.
  • I've restarted the watch.
  • I've restarted the phone.
I've even tried resetting my watch to factory defaults and reinstalling the Android Wear app on my phone. But nothing changed!

This is not the first time I have this problem. The last time it happened, I ended up restoring my phone to factory defaults and this solved the problem. But I have no intention of restoring my phone to factory defaults once more. This really makes me think the problem is related to the phone, not the watch.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Any fixes?

My Huawei Watch is running:
  • Android: 6.0.1
  • Version Number: MEC23L
  • Android Wear: 1.4.0.2593646
  • Google Play Services: 8.6.98
And my HTC One M8 phone is running:
  • Android: 6.0 (Google Play Edition)
  • Version Number: MRA58K.H10
  • Android Wear app: 1.4.0.2552934.gms
Every time I reinstall the Android Wear app on my phone, I get a crash report from Google Play Services. Could this be related to the issue I'm experiencing? I'm including a screenshot with the stacktrace:

I've also tried the "Test Notification" feature available in the Android Wear app, but nothing appeared on the watch. During this test, I was running logcat on both phone and watch. Nothing appeared on the watch's log. I'm attaching the phone's log though.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Did you install any new launcher? Are you using the default Google Now launcher? If not, can you try that?

Same problem here.
LG R Watch, Android Wear 1.4.0.2576000, Google Play services 8.7.03, Android OS 6.0.1
Samsung Note 5, Android 6.0.1
Even "Try out watch notifications" from Android Wear don't work.
I unpaird the watch, factory reset and paired again, still no notifications.
I think it started when the phone updated to Marshmallow.

I managed to get the notifications working again. I did the following:

1) Unpaired the watch from the phone.
2) Performed a factory reset on the watch.
3) Uninstalled the Android Wear app.
4) Restarted the phone.
5) Reinstalled the Android Wear app.
6) In case I got a crash report (see my original post), I repeated steps 3-5 until the installation finished successfully (no crashes).
7) Paired the watch to the phone again.

I still think the problem is on the phone side (Android Wear app). I had a similar issue even before I upgraded the watch to Android Wear 1.4.

John, do you have the issue with only Cloudmagic, or with the stock email app as well? If it's only Cloudmagic you'll need to contact the Cloudmagic developers. If you have a problem with a stock app, please post details on that.

My watch is back to its normal. Must have been the recent update because I changed and changed back every setting and attribute related to the watch I could find. Went back to normal function three days later.

Go figure.
