anyone else having problems sending/receiving SMS to AT&T cellphones?

I've had no problems with T-Mobile or Verizon, but two friends on AT&T both fail to be able to send or receive SMS from my Google Voice number.

Update: It's still not working for me. :-(

My Google Voice number does not forward SMS sent to it on to my TracFone/AT&T cell. At least not since 9 minutes ago. I see that it is set as Mobile and "Receive SMS on this phone" by default, haven't changed those settings.

When I sent a SMS from the GV web UI to that same cellphone, it took 3 seconds for my cellphone to get it. So maybe there's something up with AT&T's protocol for sending SMS from their network to GV.

Alright, AT&T SMS to GV showed up on the UI, but didn't get forwarded to the cellphone according to the settings.

Before that, I sent a test from GizmoSMS.com to the GV number and it didn't show up on the UI or get forwarded to the cell.

Let me add that I have a 646-402-xxxx GV number. (New York City)  Not sure if that matters.

I assume gizmosms uses an algorithm to determine who your carrier is, and then sends an sms via email to your number, like this:

00055...@cingularme.com

Since GV doesn't have an email equivalent, or if it does nobody has programmed it into their SMS sending programs yet, it is not likely that it will work.

Alright, I can dig why GizmoSMS doesn't work, but cell SMS to GV# doesn't get forwarded back to the same cell SMS, it just gets stuck at showing up in the web UI, even though forwarding to that mobile is enabled.

A T-Mobile subscriber sent an SMS to my GV number and it was forwarded to my AT&T cellphone immediately. Great, it's fixed.

@NYCdude and abelgc - Could you just confirm that the cell phone is listed as Mobile in the phone settings and that Receive SMS on this phone is checked?  Also, when you send the text to your GV number, it's not from the same cell phone.  Whatever phone your using to send the SMS, use it to call your GV number and make sure the cell phone rings - make sure it's a forwarded number from that contact.

My GV # is 914 and the cell phone I'm forwarding to is AT&T and everything works.  Still could be a problem with just 646 though.

how did any of you that got a response from google even go about that.  Ive tried finding a way to contact google voice directly and it keeps sending me to this help center that is not helping at all.  Im trying to find out why text messages are not being forwarded to my iphone.  i went through google voices trouble shooter and i have all of my settings correct as they say to have them and i still am not getting them forwarded to me.  not even when i send a text directly from my gv number to my cell phone will i get my texts.  This is frustrating.  HELP!!
