Why does my phone not ring?

Sometimes...not all the time, my cell phone won't ring when someone calls my google voice (i only have my cell number set for google to ring) it rings for the caller, but it seems to not continue ringing long enough for my phone to register someone is calling before google's voicemail answers...then they leave a message and i know they called cause i get a text with the transcription.

Some info about my setup:
I have sprint.
I have a call back tone active on my sprint number account (not a normal ring)
call presentation is set to off
sms and everything else works fine

it sounds like it's taking the call too long to forward to your cell phone so the voicemail kicks in.  or you're in an area that has poor cell signal so your phone sometimes doesn't ring but i'm sure you would've noticed that by now.  i'm not sure what you can do but try turning on call presentation.  i'm not sure if that'll help but it can't hurt to try =).

I can confirm that I have excellent cell reception and have never had a dropped call in almost 2 years

Did you get this resolved? This has been happening on my Verizon phone as of late. My landline rings, my Gizmo rings, but nothing on my cell phone? Good reception, call presentation on and off (happens when on or off) and caller id on or off.

Happens to me on ATT.  The phone never rings and then the person leaves a voice mail which comes through right away.

Same here on Verizon.  I get, at most, 2 rings on my cell phone before it goes to Google Voicemail.

Would it be possible to increase the 25 second ring time that appears to be the default?

take your cell phone off of call forwarding to your google phone. that fixed it for me.

I have the same problem. I am on AT&T Wireless, and call forwarding is OFF.

Same problem here, iPhone 3G on AT&T. I'll get only voicemails, no record of the call on the Vonage web site (my other forwarding phone) or on my phone's Recents list..  Later on the same person calls and it comes through.

Same here - 1/2 to 2 rings max on home or cell (both linked to GV#) before going straight to voicemail. Qwest landline on home and AT&T on cell. Reception fine; presentation off; no call forwarding to GV#. Very disappointing. Any fixes?

We have the same problem. We get voice mails but none of the three phones ring (One QWest VOIP phone and two ATT cell phones). We only know we have missed a call when we get a voice message.
