When we're ready to upgrade the bid strategies and budget management for your sub-manager account, a message will be displayed in the Experience hub. You'll be able to select an upgrade date and agree to the upgrade.
The upgrade process doesn't start immediately after you agree to upgrade your Search Ads 360 bid strategies and budget management. We'll attempt your upgrade on your upgrade date. Once the upgrade begins, check the Experience hub to review the upgrade status.
The upgrade may take several hours. While the upgrade is in progress, you won't be able to make changes to your bid strategies and budget management. However, your Search Ads 360 bid strategies continue to optimize bids before, during, and after the upgrade.
Each sub-manager account should go through the upgrade process for its bid strategies and budget management.

Changes after your bid strategies and budget management upgrade
If the upgrade is successful, the following occurs:
- You can manage, edit, and create bid strategies and use Bidding and Planning (the new name for budget management) to manage your plans and campaign groups (previously called budget plans and budget groups) in the new Search Ads 360.
- Your bid strategies and budget management remain read-only in the previous Search Ads 360 and the data is no longer updated.
- Some of your previous Search Ads 360 bid strategy conversion sources are converted to conversion actions in the new Search Ads 360.
Also note these differences:
- Custom columns (previously called formula columns) in the new Search Ads 360 can’t be used for optimization. They are used for reporting only.
- In the new Search Ads 360, conversion sources are no longer configured or set in the bid strategy. Conversions for optimization are set at the sub-manager account level or in campaign settings.
- Plans in Bidding and Planning don't require conversion goals like they did in the previous Search Ads 360. Plans inherit the campaign's conversion goal setting.
