Set up Google Ads display campaigns

View display reporting in Search Ads 360

After you set up reporting on your display campaigns:

  1. Navigate to a Google Ads engine account that contains a display campaign.
Steps for navigating to an engine account
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account.

    6. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the engine account page.

  2. Click the Campaigns, Ad groups, or Keywords tab.
  3. Display metrics appear in the Total - display row at the bottom of the reporting table.
The row includes metrics for display keywords and for each placeholder keyword you created.

Why isn't all display data attributed to individual keywords?

In a display campaign, Google Ads doesn't report engine metrics such as clicks and cost at the individual keyword level. So if you click the Keywords tab, Search Ads 360 can only display the total number of clicks, total cost, and so on, for the keywords in the report. You'll see these totals in the performance summary graph and in the summary row (Total - display) at the bottom of the Keywords page. In downloaded reports, you'll see the summary metrics in Display Network Stats rows.

However, Search Ads 360 does attribute its own data such as visits, actions, revenue, and transactions to individual keywords. So in a keywords report, you will see visits and Floodlight data for individual keywords.

Ad groups report

For example, there are two display ad groups in a display-only campaign:

Keywords report

On the Keywords tab for one of the ad groups, note the following:

  1. Engine data is available only in the summary information (the performance summary graph and the summary row).
  2. Visits are attributed to individual keywords (and reported in the summary data). Though not shown in the example below, actions and transactions will also be reported for individual keywords.

On the Ads tab, however, all data is attributed to individual ads.
