When to use

Optional for each product

Display ads: This attribute isn't available for display ads.

Vehicle ads: This attribute is currently available for vehicle ads in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. The instalment [installment] attribute will account for a purchase financing or lease option for your vehicle, including a deposit and recurring monthly instalment payments. The price [price] attribute will be treated as the full cash vehicle price.

When used with vehicle ads, this attribute applies to the following Google product category codes:

• Cars, Trucks & Vans (916)
• Recreational Vehicles (920) US only
• ATVs & UTVs (3018) US only
• Travel Trailers (4243) US only

Australia: This attribute isn't available in Australia. For wireless devices such as mobile phones or tablets advertised in Australia, use the price [price] attribute to specify the minimum total cost ('minimum quantifiable price') of the device, including the deposit, instalment payments and wireless subscription plan. Use the title [title] attribute to indicate that the cost of the device is payable in instalments.

Shopping ads and cost-free listings: This attribute is available in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) for all product categories.

In certain other countries, the attribute is available for showing wireless products and services only, for example products with the following Google product category codes:

• Watches (201)
• Mobile Phone (267)
• Laptop Computers (328)
• Tablet Computers (4745)
• Mobile Phone Preaid Cards & SIM Cards (6030)
• GPS Tracking Devices (6544)

The attribute is available for showing wireless products and services in the following countries:

• Africa: South Africa
• Asia-Pacific: Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand
• Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom
• Middle East: Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates
• North America: Canada, the United States

Costs associated with a wireless subscription plan can also be added using the subscription cost [subscription_cost] attribute in these countries, except the United States.

This attribute uses the following sub-attributes:

• Months [months] (required)
  Integer, the number of instalments that the buyer has to pay.
• Amount [amount] (required)
  ISO 4217, the amount that the buyer has to pay per month.
• Deposit [downpayment] (optional)
  ISO 4217, the amount that the buyer has to pay upfront as a one-off payment.
  • Note: The default option for this sub-attribute will be 0 or 'no deposit'. Deposit is not supported in LATAM since deposits are uncommon in this region.
• Credit type [credit_type] (optional)
  Supported values: Finance [finance], lease [lease]. Defaults to finance [finance] if unspecified. Only applicable to vehicle ads.
• Annual percentage rate [apr] (optional)
  • Required for credit_type = finance offers in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United States.
  • Number (decimal), APR (annual percentage rate) available for financing the vehicle where 2.00 represents 2%.
  • Note: Since APRs can vary based on the buyer's credit score and other factors, a disclaimer will be added to clarify that the APR is subject to change.
• Total amount [total_amount] (optional)
  ISO 4217, the total amount of credit or total amount owed by the consumer, depending on regional requirements.
• Required in Italy and Spain when credit_type= finance
  • Spain: Use this to provide the Importe Total Adeudado (total amount owed).
  • Italy: Use this to provide the Importo totale del credito (total amount of credit).

Format

Follow these formatting guidelines to make sure that Google understands the data that you're submitting.

Include the instalment [installment] attribute and then, in brackets, add the names of the sub-attributes that you want to submit, separated by colons (:). For example, to submit [months], amount [amount] and deposit [downpayment], submit them in the attribute header: installment(months:amount:downpayment) If you provide the two default sub-attributes months [months] and amount [amount], you can just provide the attribute name (installment) in the attribute header. Note: To ensure that this product data attribute is recognised by our system correctly, remember to submit your data feed file in a format that we support.

Minimum requirements

These are the requirements that you'll need to meet to show your product. If you don't follow these requirements, we'll disapprove your product and let you know in your Merchant Center account.

• Match the instalment plan that you display on your landing page. You can also display other instalment options on your landing page, but the plan that you submit must be straightforward to find on the landing page.
• Don't require that users have a loyalty card in order to choose the instalment option that you submit.
• Avoid using the instalment attribute for software subscriptions. Software subscriptions must be prepaid and the yearly prepaid cost must be submitted using the price [price] attribute.
• Use in approved countries only. The use of the instalment [installment] attribute in unapproved countries will result in the disapproval of your product.
• Use for approved product categories only. The use of the instalment [installment] attribute for other categories of products will result in the disapproval of your product.

Vehicle ads

The vehicle's landing page must provide complete instalment offer details in compliance with local laws. The instalment details displayed on the ad format are based on a representative example provided on the landing page and are estimates only.

Note: APR for lease in France becomes mandatory starting November 2026.

Bear in mind:If credit type [credit_type] is not submitted, it will automatically default as finance [finance]. If the credit type [credit_type] attribute is not submitted, the deposit [downpayment] will default as 0.00.

Best practices

These best practices can help you to go beyond the basic requirements to optimise your product data for performance.

• Submit exact values for your instalment costs in accordance with ISO 4217. For example, submit 1.01 MXN instead of 1.0012 MXN, otherwise we'll round the submitted value.
• If your product is combined with a subscription cost plan, submit the same number of months for the subscription cost [subscription_cost] attribute as for the instalment [installment] attribute. If the number of months is different and we need to combine your instalment payment and subscription cost amounts due to space constraints, we will use the highest of the two values. For example, if your instalment plan is 12 months but your subscription contract is 24, we'll use 24 months.
  Note: The subscription cost [subscription_cost] attribute is not supported in all countries.
• If the instalment amount for your product increases after a certain period of time, you must submit the highest monthly cost in the 'amount' sub-attribute. For example, if the instalment amount increases from 20 GBP to 40 GBP after 6 months, specify 40 GBP.
• For vehicle ads only, provide the credit type [credit_type] sub-attribute with a value of finance [finance] or lease [lease] to specify the type of instalment credit provided.
• For vehicle ads only, the price [price] attribute must be set to '0' if the vehicle is only available for lease and not for purchase at a full cash price. If the vehicle is also available for purchase, the price [price] attribute must reflect the price of the vehicle. For other product categories, always specify the full up-front payment option using the price [price] attribute.
• For products targeting Latin America, the deposit [downpayment] sub-attribute should not be provided or should be provided with a value of 0 since deposits are not supported.
