When to use
Optional for each product
If users might be interested in price per unit for your product and it falls into one of the following categories, then we recommend that you submit
unit_pricing_measure attribute is optional, but you may be required to provide this information based on local laws or regulations. For example, if your products target any of the EU member states or Switzerland, please consider the legal requirements on this matter defined in the national implementation acts of the EU directive 2010/30/EU and any other applicable local law.

These are the requirements you'll need to meet to show ads for your product. If you don't follow these requirements, we'll disapprove your product and let you know in the Diagnostics page of your Merchant Center account.
- There are no minimum requirements for this attribute. Keep in mind that you still need to follow the formatting guidelines or the information you submit can't be used.
These are best practices that can help you go beyond the basic requirements to optimize your product data for performance.
- Submit the total amount (number) and units that make up your product. For example, if you submit 3 USD for
price, 150 floz for
unit_pricing_measure, and 100 floz for
unit_pricing_base_measure. The unit price would be 2 USD / 100 floz.
unit_pricing_base_measureto include the denominator for your unit price. This attribute is useful when products like yours are typically shown as the price for a specific number of units. For example, you might be selling 150ml of a specific perfume, but users are interested in seeing the price per 100ml.
- Submit a price that can be represented in your country of sale’s currency (according to ISO 4217). For example, instead of 1.0012 USD, submit 1.01 USD. If your price can’t be represented in your country of sale’s currency, then we’ll round it to a value that can.
- Submit either the
energy_efficiency_classattribute. Do not submit both. If both attributes are present, only
energy_efficiency_classwill be shown.
Review each section closely to determine if the requirements apply to your country or product. If you don't follow requirements that apply to you, we'll disapprove your product and let you know in the Diagnostics page of your Merchant Center account.
- Submit metric values when targeting the UK. The imperial units (e.g.,
gal) are interpreted as US imperial units, which are different than the imperial units used in the UK.
