This article explains various reasons why Store pickup setups, like, pickup today and pickup later, are rejected by Google and what you can do to resolve the issues.

Pickup today rejection reasons

Missing pickup today option: Display your omnichannel pickup options on your product landing page or in your checkout flow

Your product landing pages and checkout flow don’t provide an option to place an order to pickup today. Add a pickup today option to your product landing pages or in your checkout flow. Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Update your product landing pages or checkout flow to display a store pickup today option

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don’t offer an option to place an order for pickup today, you’ll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools", click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant hosted local storefront setup.
  4. In the “Pickup today” section, check the box labeled “My website allows shoppers to buy online and pick up in store”.
  5. Resubmit your example product landing page URL for store pickup in the text box.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Google will conduct another eligibility review of your website.

Missing pickup today availability: Display your omnichannel pickup availability on your product landing page or in your checkout flow

Your product landing pages and checkout flow don’t provide store pickup availability. Add a store selector with the ability to show store pickup availability:

  • Pickup today availability can be displayed after clicking on a link, for example, check local availability, or after submitting a postal code or address.
  • Store selection for pickup can occur in your checkout flow after a user has added an item to their cart.
  • After a user clicks or inputs the required information, your site must display an item’s available pickup methods (“reserve online” or “buy online”) and an item’s Pickup SLA (“same day” or “next day pickup”). You must also display the location of the local store.

Step 1 of 2: Update your product landing pages or checkout flow to display store pickup availability

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don’t provide store pickup availability, you’ll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools", click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant hosted local storefront setup.

Missing store selector: Ensure that your product pages allow users to select a store to check price and availability

Your product landing pages don’t provide users the option to check a product’s pickup availability at various store locations. Add a store selector to your product landing pages or checkout flow. Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Add a store selector to your product landing pages or checkout flow

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don’t provide a store selector, you’ll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools", click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant hosted local storefront setup.

Missing pickup today attributes: Submit the required attributes for pickup today

Your primary and product inventory feeds don’t contain required attributes for the pickup today feature. Review the required attributes for pickup today and add these values to your feed. Values for pickup method [pickup_method] and pickup SLA [pickup_SLA] must be submitted in either your primary feed or product inventory feed. Learn more about the required attributes for Pickup today with merchant hosted local storefront (full) or Pickup today with merchant hosted local storefront (basic).

Step 1 of 4: Check your primary feed

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Products drop down menu from the left navigation panel.
  2. Click Feeds.
  3. Select your primary feed.
  4. Click Download file.
  5. Open your feed file and ensure that you are submitting values for pickup method [pickup_method] and pickup SLA [pickup_SLA]. Make sure that the pickup method and pickup SLA attributes are spelled correctly.

Step 2 of 4: Check your product inventory feed

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Products drop down menu from the left navigation panel.
  2. Click Feeds.
  3. Select your product inventory feed.
  4. Click Download file.
  5. Open your feed file and ensure that you are submitting values for pickup method [pickup_method] and pickup SLA [pickup_SLA]. Make sure that the pickup method and pickup SLA attributes are spelled correctly.

Step 3 of 4: Add the required attributes to your primary feed or product inventory feed

  1. Add pickup method [pickup_method] and pickup SLA [pickup_SLA] to your primary feed or product inventory feed.
  2. Resubmit your feed.

Step 4 of 4: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools”, click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant hosted local storefront setup.
  4. In the “Pickup today” section, check the box labeled “My website allows shoppers to buy online and pick up in store”.

Pickup later rejection reasons

Missing pickup later SLA: Clearly indicate when the order will be available to pick up

After a user clicks or inputs the required information, your site must display an item’s Pickup SLA (pickup time information). You must also display the location of the local store.

Step 1 of 2: Update your product landing pages or checkout flow to display store pickup availability

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don’t provide store pickup SLA, you'll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools”, click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and under “Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your stores in {country name}?”, select one of the following options:
    • Yes, I know what’s in stock at my stores.
    • No, I don’t know what’s in-stock at my stores, but I can ship products to my stores. Note: If you select this option, then you will also need to select a Merchant hosted local storefront experience.
  4. In the “Pickup later” section, select “If a product isn’t in stock, ship to store is available“.
  5. Resubmit your example product landing page URL in the “Example product page for pickup later” field.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Google will conduct another eligibility review of your website.

Missing pickup later attributes: Submit the required attributes for pickup later

Your primary and/or product inventory feeds don't contain the required attributes for the pickup later feature. Review the required attributes for pickup later for Shopping ads or pickup later for local inventory ads.

Step 1 of 4: Check your primary feed

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Products drop down menu from the left navigation panel.

  4. Click Download file.
  5. Open your feed file and ensure that you are submitting values for pickup method [pickup_method] and pickup SLA [pickup_SLA]. Make sure that the pickup method and pickup SLA attributes are spelled correctly.

  1. Add pickup method [pickup_method] and pickup SLA [pickup_SLA] to your primary feed or product inventory feed.
  2. Resubmit your feed.

Step 4 of 4: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools”, click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and under “Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your stores in {country name}?”, select one of the following options:
    • Yes, I know what’s in stock at my stores.
    • No, I don’t know what’s in-stock at my stores, but I can ship products to my stores. Note: If you select this option, then you will also need to select a Merchant hosted local storefront experience.
  4. In the “Pickup later” section, select “If a product isn’t in stock, ship to store is available“.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Google will conduct another eligibility review of your website.

Missing price: Add your product’s omnichannel price to your product landing pages

Your example product landing page doesn’t contain an omnichannel price for your product. Add the price of your products to your product landing pages. For a more detailed overview of what constitutes a misrepresentation, please consult our misrepresentation policy.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Add the product price to your product landing pages

If your product landing pages don’t provide an omnichannel price, you will need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools", click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and under “Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your stores in {country name}?”, select one of the following options:
    • Yes, I know what’s in stock at my stores.
    • No, I don’t know what’s in-stock at my stores, but I can ship products to my stores. Note: If you select this option, then you will also need to select a Merchant hosted local storefront experience.
  4. In the “Pickup later” section, select “If a product isn’t in stock, ship to store is available“.
  5. Resubmit your example product landing page URL in the “Example product page for pickup later” field.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Google will conduct another eligibility review of your website.

Payment wall: Your website should allow users to view their fulfillment options without having to enter their payment information

Customers should be able to view the available fulfillment options without having to enter their payment information. Remove this requirement from your website. For a more detailed overview of what constitutes a misrepresentation, please consult our misrepresentation policy.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Remove the requirement to pay before displaying fulfillment options from your website

If your website is showing any requirement to pay before displaying fulfillment options, then you will need to remove that from your website.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under “Tools", click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and under “Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your stores in {country name}?”, select one of the following options:
    • Yes, I know what’s in stock at my stores.
