Best practices for your hotel property listing

Google uses your property list to show your property information on relevant hotel searches. It’s recommended that you provide up-to-date and accurate information for your property list, as it allows travelers to easily find your property on Google. This article talks about the best practices you can follow to improve your visibility for travelers.

  • Include all properties from your inventory in your hotel list.

  • Review your property match summary under the Properties tab in Hotel Center.

    • Use the "Match status" column to find if your properties are matched with a location on Google Maps.
    • On the Properties page, select the Data issues tab.
    • On the "Data issues" tab, check the “Match issues” column. If the match issues reason is “No Google Maps match found on your listing,” then check the “Data issues” column for more details on why your property isn’t matched and how to fix the match issues. Learn more about how to Resolve property matching issues.
    • Filter match status by "Not matched" and "Map overlap" to view hotels with critical issues that may prevent property matching.
  • Resolve your property match issues using the manual match tool.

    • Fix properties with no matches, an incorrect match, or overlapping properties using the manual match tool.
    • If you can’t find your property on Google Maps, work with the hotel owner to add the missing property on Google Business Profile.
Note: Resolving your data issues increases the chance for your properties to be matched, but doesn’t necessarily guarantee a match.
