Below are common questions on Hangouts Meet hardware.
Can I use my existing power supply with the CN65 Hangouts Meet hardware kit?
Use only approved devices. For more information, see Qualified peripherals for Hangouts Meet hardware kit. For details on how to configure your Hangouts Meet hardware kit, see Connect cables.
Plug the cable into the HDMI port of your computer to present content on the display in the room. For more information see using the Hangouts Meet touchscreen.
TouchscreenCan I use the old remote control and the Hangouts Meet touchscreen at the same time?
No, this is not supported.
You must enable the "Call a Phone" feature in the Admin console.
From the Admin console Home page, go to Device management. On the left, click Google meeting room hardware Settings and policies.
Requires having the Google meeting room hardware custom role.
- Select the organizational unit to which you want the settings to apply.
On the settings and policies page, select Enable Call a Phone.
This feature is currently supported for calls to the U.S. and Canada. Calls to other countries are not yet supported.
Call a phone in Classic Hangouts - You can only Enable Call a phone if your domain is registered in the U.S. or Canada. If your domain is registered elsewhere this option is disabled.
Call a phone in Hangouts Meet (the new video experience) - Enable Call a phone is available, but will only be activated on hardware running Hangouts Meet located in specific countries.
Restart the device.
Recording is only available to meeting organizers with a G Suite Enterprise account. Your G Suite administrator needs to turn on recording in the Admin console before you can use it in a video meeting.
Make sure that you have plugged in a monitor to the Chromebox. Make sure the green HDMI cable from the Hangouts Meet touchscreen is not plugged into the Chromebox. The green HDMI cable is for local presentations from your computer. For more information see Install your Meet or Chromebox system.
Make sure the touchscreen is:
- connected to an external power source using the wall adapter provided.
- connected to the Chromebox with a qualified USB 3.0 cables. USB 2.0 extension cables are not supported.
- connected using qualified cables and hubs, and that the correct peripherals are being used to connect the Hangouts Meet hardware kit.

To present content from your computer check that:
- the green HDMI cable from the touchscreen is plugged into your computer or HDMI device and is actively streaming over that connection.
- the touch screen is connected to an external power source using the wall adapter provided.
- the touch screen is connected using qualified USB 3.0 devices.
To present content to the room you need to:
SpeakermicWhy does the Hangouts Meet speakermic make a chime sound, when turned on and off?
This could mean that a non-qualified hub is connected to the speakermic and touchscreen. You must use a USB 3.0 connection cable and an approved USB hub. For more information, see Qualified peripherals for Hangouts Meet hardware kit.
Make sure the first speakermic is connected to a power outlet using the wall adapter provided and is connected to the Chromebox using the micro-USB connector. For more information see the Hangouts Meet speakermic Quick Start Guide.
CameraWhy doesn't the autozoom camera follow the active speaker?
When autozoom camera control is enabled the camera doesn’t zoom in on individual speakers. It detects the faces of all meeting participants and crops and zooms to create a more personal meeting experience. For more information, see Turn on autozoom camera control.
The autozoom feature detects faces and crops and zooms to best frame the participants. If it can no longer detect a participant or detects a new participant it may change the zoom level.
For the best experience use autozoom in small (3-5 people), well lit meeting rooms and position the camera 8 feet (2.4m) from the farthest person. For more information, see Turn on autozoom camera control.
Your G Suite administrator needs to turn on autozoom camera control in the Admin console. For more information, see Turn on autozoom camera control. You must have the Hangouts Meet hardware kit including the Huddly GO camera to use autozoom camera control.
If you don't use the correct cables the camera can show visual artifacts or not work at all. The Huddly camera has a 4k sensor that requires a high bandwidth, USB3.0 connection. You need to use qualified USB3.0 cables. For more information, see Qualified peripherals for Hangouts Meet hardware kit.
Make sure you are using a supported device. Google has tested and supports several devices as part of the Hangouts Meet hardware qualification program. Please use the cameras listed in our help center.
In meetingsWhy don’t I see the room’s list of meetings on the TV display?
With the introduction of the Hangouts Meet touchscreen, the calendar is no longer displayed on the TV. Please check the touchscreen for your list of meetings.
To allow anyone in your organization to book a room you need to change the sharing settings for your calendar resources. For more information, see Manage resources.

AccessibilityHow do I enable accessibility options?
- To turn on spoken feedback, using 2 fingers, touch and hold any area of the screen until you hear "Chromebox spoken feedback enabled".
- To turn off spoken feedback, using 2 fingers touch and hold any area of the screen.
Spoken feedback can also be turned on or off in settings on the touchscreen. For more information, see Use the Hangouts Meet touchscreen.
Note: Screen magnification on the touchscreen is not yet supported.
Yes, plug in a keyboard and mouse to navigate the controls. In this case, the touchscreen will act as an extended display - you can move your mouse from the main display to it.
