Fix sign-in issues

Try signing in with the Google Account username and password you'd like to use. If you're unable to sign in, select the error message you're seeing from the options below:

  • "Sorry, your password could not be verified."
  • "Sorry, your email or password could not be verified."
  • "Sorry, you don’t have permission to sign in."
  • "Your account does not work on Chrome OS."
  • "Before signing in, please start a Guest session to activate the network."
  • "Your password cannot be verified on this current network."
  • "Your account may have been deleted or disabled."
  • I'm experiencing another issue

Try these suggestions:

  • Make sure you’re entering the correct password for your account.
  • If you recently changed your password, try logging in with your old password. The new password should sync once you're connected to the Internet. It may take a few tries before your new password is recognized.
  • Forgot your password? Visit http://www.google.com/accounts/recovery to reset your password.
  • If you recently enabled two-step verification for your account, make sure you enter your normal Google Account password in the password field. Do not enter an application-specific password.

This message means that access on the Chrome device is restricted to a few specific accounts. Do you have owner privileges for your Chrome device?

Your network connection needs to be fully activated before Chrome OS can verify your username and password. Follow these steps to activate your network:

  1. Start a guest session by clicking the Guest icon on the sign-in screen. If you don't see this icon, click Skip sign-in and browse as a Guest link in the sign-in box.
  2. You should see a page asking you to authenticate your access to the network. Follow the steps on the screen.
