Purchase upgrades for ChromeOS devices

You can use the Admin console to buy annual upgrades for the standalone Chrome Enterprise Upgrade service if you don't already have paid standalone upgrades for the Chrome Enterprise Upgrade service through an authorized reseller.

You can immediately buy up to 50 Chrome Enterprise Upgrades. After successful payment at the end of each month, the amount of additional upgrades you can purchase will increase based on the number of upgrades in your subscription. If you want to purchase more Chrome Enterprise Upgrades than the system allows, you need to follow these steps to create a support case in the Google Cloud Support Portal.

Important: Do not include personally identifiable information (PII) in your support case or attachments.

1. Sign in to Chrome browser using your Chrome Enterprise super administrator credentials.
2. Open Google Cloud Support Portal.
3. Enter details of how we can help:
   1. For Issue type, select Chrome Enterprise.
4. Describe your issue:
   1. Enter issue description, CEU Limit Increase Request - <your domain>.
   2. For Category, select Chrome OS > Setup.
5. (Optional) Change the priority and language selection.
6. For Provide more details, add the following template information in the text box:
   • Your Domain—Enter the name of your domain.
   • Current Licenses (optional)—If you know the number of licenses you currently have, add it. Otherwise, you can leave this blank.
   • Additional Licenses Needed—Enter the number of additional licenses you wish to purchase.
   • What makes buying directly from the Admin Console more appealing than through a reseller? —Your feedback is important to us. Feel free to let us know why you want to buy directly from the Admin console.
   • If you purchase additional licenses through Admin Console, you will no longer be able to take advantage of the benefits that authorized resellers offer. Are you comfortable proceeding with purchasing licenses through Admin Console?—Provide an answer: Yes or No.
7. Add attachments that might help us with your support case, such as screenshots.
8. (Optional) Change details for case sharing and preferred time zone.
9. Click Submit

If you have an active free trial for Chrome Enterprise Upgrade

You can purchase upgrades during your trial or wait until it ends. Near the end of your trial, you’ll get an email letting you know that you need to purchase upgrades.

If you added your billing information during the trial, you don’t need to do anything. Upgrades are automatically purchased when your trial ends.

If your trial period ends and you haven’t set up your billing and payment plan, your standalone Chrome Enterprise Upgrade service is automatically suspended. You can still access the Admin console and all your data is retained, but you can’t enroll devices, configure settings, or apply policies. If you were suspended at the end of your free trial, you need to set up billing to resume your service.

Set up billing to start a paid upgrade

1. Sign in with a super administrator account to the Google Admin console.

   If you aren’t using a super administrator account, you can’t complete these steps.

2. Go to Menu  Billing > Payment accounts.

   Requires having the Billing Management administrator privilege.

3. Next to Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, click Set Up Billing.
4. Click Get started.
5. Enter the number of upgrades that you want to purchase and click Continue.
6. Review your selection.
7. Check the box to agree to the terms and click Continue.
8. Click Continue to confirm.

You can use the Admin console to buy annual upgrades for the Kiosk & Signage Upgrade if you currently have access to your organization’s Admin console to manage Google Workspace, Google Cloud Identity, or other Google products.

You can immediately buy up to 50 Kiosk & Signage Upgrades. After successful payment at the end of each month, the amount of additional upgrades you can purchase will increase based on the number of upgrades in your subscription. If you want to purchase more Kiosk & Signage Upgrades than the system allows, you need to create a support case in the Customer Care Portal.

Note: To enroll using Kiosk & Signage Upgrade, ChromeOS devices must be running version 104 or later.

1. Sign in with a super administrator account to the Google Admin console.

   If you aren’t using a super administrator account, you can’t complete these steps.

2. Go to Menu  Billing > Subscriptions.

   Requires having the Billing Management administrator privilege. 

3. Click Add or upgrade a subscription.
4. Click Devices.
5. For Kiosk & Signage Upgrade, click Get started.
6. Choose Annual plan and enter the number of upgrades that you want to purchase.
7. Click Checkout.
8. Review your selectionenter payment detailsclick Purchase.

You will receive emailed confirmation of your purchase and instructions on how to get started with your Kiosk & Signage Upgrade.
