If you sell products without barcodes, you can upload images of your products through the product editor on Business Profile. Items added appear in Business Profiles on Google Search.
Who can use the product editor
If you have a local store which sells physical goods, the product editor is suitable for you. You can also meet one or more of the following criteria:
- You don’t have a website where your customer can purchase your products online.
- Your products don’t have barcodes.
- You don’t have fresh data about stock availability.
If the product editor isn’t for you, here are other options to consider:
- If you have a dining establishment, you can upload photos of your dishes with the menu editor.
- If you sell services, you can add the services you offer with the services editor. Learn how to add or edit your services.
- If you sell experiences, you can add your ticket and activity details. Learn how to manage your ticket and activity details.
- If you sell products with barcodes, you can connect your Point of Sale (POS) system to the Local Inventory app or product reader. Learn how to showcase in-store products.
Add a product in the product editor on Google Search
Important: Products submitted through product editor must adhere to the shopping ads policy. If you submit products that violate Google's policy, it can result in the removal of all of the products you uploaded.
- Sign in to the Google Account you use to manage your Business Profile.
- To find your Business Profile, search on Google for your exact business name.

- If you have multiple profiles, click View profile next to the relevant profile.
- Click Edit Products Add product.
- Fill out the fields in the form.
- To submit a product, click Publish.
Tip: If a Merchant Center account is already linked to your business profile, choosing “Edit Products” will lead to an option to manage products on Merchant Center. If you don’t have access to the linked Merchant Center account, you’ll be given an option to request access.
Edit or remove a product in the product editor on Google Search

- Click an existing product you’d like to update.

Generate a scene for your product on Google Search
Important:
- Only merchants in the US can use scene generation in product editor.
- When you use Product Studio, you agree to the Terms of Service (TOS).
You can change the background scene of your product with Product Studio, a generative AI tool which helps you create engaging imagery to showcase your products.
- Go to your Business Profile. Learn how to find your profile.
- To generate a scene for your product, click Edit products Get started.
- Select the image you want to edit.
- Wait until the background from your image is removed.
- Select a theme for your product.
- Choose a generated image from the editor.
- If you’re satisfied with the image, click Add image to product.
- You’ll receive a confirmation to save the image, click OK.
Once you saved the generated image for your product, from the product editor:
- Fill out the fields in the form.
- To submit your product, click Publish.
