  • Live video verification may not be available for all businesses. We recommend that you try the options available to you. If you’re still unable to verify your business, contact support.
  • Live video calls are only available within the business hours of your location.

Step 1: Get ready for the call

  • Make sure you have a device that supports live video calls.
  • Make sure you're at your business and can show your location and ownership during the call. For example, be prepared to show:
    • Your current location: Show outside signs, nearby businesses, or a street sign that confirms your business location.
    • Your business or equipment: Show your products, branded equipment, marketing materials, or tools you use to serve customers.
    • Proof you manage the business: Show access to employee-only areas or items like a cash register, kitchen, storage room, or non-sensitive business documents. You can also use your keys to open your facility.

Step 2: Start a live video call

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. Select Get verified and then Live video call and then Next.

Mail

Important: Verification through postcard isn’t available for all businesses. We recommend that you try the options available to you. If you’re still unable to verify your business, contact support.

If verification through mail is available in your Business Profile and you choose this method, we’ll mail you a verification code. To confirm that your business is at the listed address, you must enter the code on your profile.

Step 1: Request your code

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. Select Get verified and then Postcard.
  3. Make sure your business mailing address is correct.
  4. Request the code.
Tip: Most codes arrive within 14 days.

Step 2: Wait for your code to arrive through mail

Important:

  • Do not edit your business name, address, or category on your Business Profile. If you do, the code we sent you won’t work.
  • Do not request a new code. If you do, we invalidate the code in the mail and send a new one. This can make the process longer.
  • Verification codes expire after 30 days.

Step 3: Enter your verification code

Important:

  • Keep the verification code secure.
  • Google will never ask for your verification code.
  • Do not share the verification code with anyone, even with those who manage your Business Profile.

When the postcard with your verification code arrives, enter it on your Business Profile.

To enter the code:

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. In the "Code" field, enter your 5-digit verification code.
  3. Select Submit.

Step 3: Wait up to 5 business days to be verified
