This article is about Google Analytics 4 properties. Refer to the Universal Analytics section if you're still using a Universal Analytics property, which will stop processing data on July 1, 2023 (October 1, 2023 for Analytics 360 properties).

What happened to my Tracking ID?

  1. Click Admin.
  2. In the Property column, click Property Settings.

Your “UA-” ID appears at the top of the Property Settings page.

My Tracking ID does not appear on the Property Settings page

If you don't see a Tracking ID, you have a Google Analytics 4 property. (Google Analytics 4 properties do not have a Tracking ID.) If you need a Tracking ID (i.e. an ID that begins with "UA-"), you will need to create a Universal Analytics property instead. Follow these instructions carefully, because the Universal Analytics property option is hidden under Show advanced options. Once you have created a Universal Analytics property, you can follow the instructions above to find your "UA-" Tracking ID.

I'm using a Google Analytics 4 property. How do I find my Measurement ID (i.e. "G-" ID)?

  1. In Admin, make sure that you have the desired account and property selected.
  2. In the Property column, click Data Streams, then click your web data stream. Your “G-” Measurement ID appears in the upper right portion of the panel.
