If you can't find your Tracking ID (i.e. "UA-" ID), it's probably because you are in a Google Analytics 4 property instead of a Universal Analytics property. You may have unintentionally created a Google Analytics 4 property (now the default) for your website instead of a Universal Analytics property.
Before you create a Universal Analytics property, however, follow these instructions to make sure you're not already using a Universal Analytics property with a Tracking ID:
- In Admin, make sure that you have the desired account and property selected.
- In the Property column, click Tracking Info then Tracking Code. Your “UA-” ID appears in the upper left portion of the panel.
If you don't see Tracking Info > Tracking Code, you are viewing a Google Analytics 4 property. Follow the instructions to create a Universal Analytics property.
I'm using a Google Analytics 4 property. How do I find my Measurement ID (i.e. "G-" ID)?
- In Admin, make sure that you have the desired account and property selected.
- In the Property column, click Data Streams, then click your web data stream. Your “G-” Measurement ID appears in the upper right portion of the panel.
