Get more info on how to create and manage your AdWords Express ads. You can edit, deactivate, reactivate, or remove your ads at any time in your AdWords Express dashboard.

Create a new ad

Click one of the links below for instructions to create an ad for a new or existing business.

How to create an ad for a business already in AdWords Express
  1. Sign in to your AdWords Express account at http://adwords.google.com/express/
  2. If your business is already in your AdWords Express account, locate the business you'd like to advertise. Click the arrow next to your business information and select Create ad.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions to select your audience, write your ad text, and set your budget.

How to create an ad for a new business
  1. Sign in to your AdWords Express account at http://adwords.google.com/express/
  2. If your business hasn’t been added to your AdWords Express account, click Create new business.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions to describe your business.
  4. Next, follow the step-by-step instructions to select your audience, write your ad text, and set your budget.

Edit your ad

You can modify your ad text at any time in your AdWords Express dashboard. Click the link below for instructions to edit your ad text.

How to change your ad text
  1. Sign in to your AdWords Express account at http://adwords.google.com/express/
  2. Click the business with the ad.
  3. Click the arrow next to your ad. From the dropdown menu, select Edit headline and ad text.
  4. Edit your ad as needed.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Deactivate or reactivate an ad

It’s not possible at this time to set an end date for your ad, but you can pause the ad at any time. You can also remove the ad from your account if you don't plan to re-use the ad.

How to change your ad status
  1. Sign in to your AdWords Express account at http://adwords.google.com/express/
  2. Click the business with the ad.
  3. Click the arrow next to your ad. From the dropdown menu, select Active (to restart an inactive ad) or Inactive (to put the ad on hold).

How to remove your ad
  1. Sign in to your AdWords Express account at http://adwords.google.com/express/
  2. Click the business with the ad.
  3. Click the arrow next to your ad. From the dropdown menu, select Remove ad.

Mobile app (U.S. only)

View your ads

When you open the AdWords Express mobile app, we’ll show you a list of the businesses associated with your account. Touch the name of your business. You’ll see any ads created for this business.

Create a new ad

  1. Touch the menu icon next to your business and select Create new ad.
  2. Follow the instructions to create your new ad.

Edit your ad text or settings

  1. Touch the name of your business.
  2. Touch the edit icon under the ad.
  3. Update your ad text, and touch Save when you’re done.

Deactivate or reactivate your ad

  1. Touch the name of your business.
  2. To pause the ad, touch the Active status to switch it off. To reactivate the ad, touch the Paused status to switch it on.
