Find your bid strategy status

Your bid strategy status tells you whether your bid strategies are active or not, and why they might be limited. It’s important to review the status of your bid strategies to ensure that they’re running as expected. A standard bid strategy is applied to one campaign, whereas a portfolio bid strategy can be applied to more than one campaign. This article shows you where to find your bid strategy status at the portfolio and standard levels.

How to find your portfolio bid strategy status

  1. Sign in to your AdWords account.
  2. Click the Campaigns tab.
  3. Click Shared library in the left-hand menu.
  4. Click Bid strategies.
  5. Click the bid strategy that you want to examine.
    • The current bid strategy status is located at the top of the screen. To see more information about your bid strategy status, hover over the speech bubble (Ad disapproval bubble) next to the status.
    • Changes to your bid strategy statuses over time are automatically displayed along the bottom of the graph. To find out more about each status, hover over the status.

How to find your standard bid strategy status

  1. Sign in to your AdWords account.
  2. Click the Campaigns tab.
  3. Look at the 'Status' column, next to the 'Budget' column.
  4. If your campaign has a status, it will be in parentheses '( )'.
  5. Hover over the speech bubble (Ad disapproval bubble) next to the status to see more information.
  6. Click View bid strategy report to learn more about how your bid strategy has performed for this campaign.
