Information Harvesting

Google provides translated versions of our Help Center, though they are not meant to change the content of our policies. The English version is the official language we use to enforce our policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.

The Google Ads policy on information harvesting will be changing on May 17, 2011. This change will affect all countries. We made this decision to protect users' personally identifiable information. If your site requests payment, financial, or personal information from visitors, please review the new requirements and make any needed changes to avoid having your ads suspended.

  • Clear, accessible disclosure of how personal information will be used before visitors submit
  • Option to discontinue direct communications in the above disclosure
  • SSL when collecting payment and certain financial and personal information

After the new policy goes into effect, the information harvesting policy will be updated to reflect this change.
