Before you can create a new campaign in AdMob, there are some prerequisite steps you need to take.
Prerequisite steps
Complete the following:
- Link your AdMob account to a Google Ads account.
- Set up billing in your Google Ads account.
- Set up conversion measurement (only for campaigns that promote apps).
1. Link your AdMob account to a Google Ads account
Note: You must have administrator or account management permissions in AdMob to link your AdMob account to a Google Ads account.
- First, link your AdMob account to an existing or new Google Ads account to access the AdMob campaigns feature.
2. Set up billing in your Google Ads account
- Next, you need to submit your current billing information in your Google Ads account. Though your current billing information is required to complete your campaign setup in AdMob, you don’t need to spend any money in Google Ads.
Note: Your AdMob role and permissions don't grant you the same permissions in Google Ads. To create or edit campaigns, you'll need standard or administrative permissions in Google Ads.
3. Set up conversion measurement (only for campaigns that promote apps)
Note: You only need to complete this step if you’re running campaigns that promote an app.
Setting up conversion measurement is essential to optimise your campaign performance and record installs accurately. How you set up conversion event measurement depends on which option you implement.
