Link your Google Analytics 4 properties to Ad Manager

Unify app and website measurement with GA4 reporting. #App + Web

This is an article about linking Google Analytics 4 properties to Ad Manager. It discusses what Google Analytics 4 is and the steps to link it to Ad Manager. It also details how to unlink the two. Some of the important points from this article are that you need “Administrator” permission in Ad Manager and “Edit” permission in Google Analytics to link the two accounts. Also, after you link the accounts, all users who have reporting permissions will have access to the linked data.

The Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property combines mobile app and website data for unified reporting and analysis. Reports for this property type use a single set of consistent metrics and dimensions plus flexible event management and cross-platform analysis to help you understand how people engage with your apps and websites.

Additional fees may apply. Please consult your Google Analytics 360 terms.

Link your Ad Manager network to a GA4 property

Next, link your Ad Manager network to a GA4 property. This lets your Ad Manager network communicate with Google Analytics. By choosing to link to Google Analytics, you allow more of your Analytics data to be used by Ad Manager independent of your Firebase Data Sharing Settings.

You must have Edit (or higher) permission in the Google Analytics account and Administrator permission in the Google Ad Manager network to link the two accounts. A network administrator will be able to enable linking between Ad Manager and GA4 properties. All users who have reporting permissions will have access to the linked data in the "Analytics" report type.

Note: If you don’t have a Firebase account, sign up for Firebase and add at least one app before completing these steps.
