You must be signed in as a super administrator for this task.

Using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), your users can use their Google Cloud credentials to sign in to enterprise-cloud applications.

Set up SSO via SAML for LinkedIn Learning

Here's how to set up Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML for the LinkedIn Learning® application.

Step 1: Get Google identity provider (IdP) information
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps and then SAML Apps.

    To see Apps on the Home page, you might have to click More controls at the bottom. 

  3. Click Add Add at the bottom right.
  4. Locate and click LinkedIn Learning in the application list.
  5. On the Google IDP Information page:
    • Copy and save the SSO URL and Entity ID.
    • Download the Certificate.

Leave the Admin console open, you'll continue with the configuration wizard after performing the next step in LinkedIn Learning.

Step 2: Set up LinkedIn Learning as a SAML 2.0 service provider (SP)
  1. Open a new incognito browser window.
  2. Sign in to LinkedIn Learning with an account that has the Enterprise Administrator Role enabled.
  3. Navigate to Go to Admin and then Settings and then Global Settings.
  4. Open the Single Sign-On (SSO) section.
  5. Click Add a new SSO.
  6. Enter the SAML: SSO connection name of your choice.
  7. In Configure LinkedIn SSO settings, click Click Here to load and copy individual fields from the form.
  8. Copy and save the Entity ID and Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URL. You’ll need these values when you return to the Admin console in Step 3 below to complete SSO setup.
  9. In Configure LinkedIn SSO settings, click the option to input information manually, then enter the following information copied from Google in Step 1 above:
    • Issuer String or Entity ID:  Entity ID
    • IdP redirect endpoint:  SSO URL
    • X.509 Public certificate: Paste the certificate downloaded in Step 1.
    • SAML Subject Identity attribute name: The name of your SSO Identity provider (choose any name according to your company's requirements).
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click the Automatically assign licenses toggle to enable SSO.
Step 3: Finish SSO configuration in Admin console
  1. Return to the Admin console browser tab.
  2. In the SSO configuration wizard, click Next.

    The Basic information window shows the Application name and Description seen by users.

  3. Click Next.
  4. On the Service Provider Details page, replace the default ACS URL and Entity ID values with the ACS URL and Entity ID values you copied from LinkedIn Learning in Step 2.
  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Attribute Mapping page, set the Select category and Select user field values as follows for the listed attributes:
     
    Application attribute Select category Select user field
    firstName Basic Information First Name
    lastName Basic Information Last Name
    email Basic Information Primary Email
  7. Click Finish.
Step 4: Enable the LinkedIn Learning app
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps and then SAML Apps.

    To see Apps on the Home page, you might have to click More controls at the bottom. 

  3. Select LinkedIn Learning.
  4. At the top right of the gray box, click Edit Service Compose.

  5. To apply settings to all organizations, click On for everyone or Off for everyone, and then click Save

  6. To apply settings to individual organizational units, do the following: 

    • At the left, select the organizational unit that contains the users whose settings you want to change.
    • To change the setting, select On or Off.
    • To keep the setting the same, even if the parent setting changes, click Override.
    • If the organization's status is already Overridden, choose an option:
      Inherit—Reverts to the same setting as its parent.
      Save—Saves your new setting (even if the parent setting changes).

  7. Ensure that your LinkedIn Learning user account email IDs match those in your Google domain.
Step 5: Verify that the SSO is working

You can sign in to LinkedIn Learning from the Admin console or using LinkedIn Learning's enterprise sign-in page.

  • In the Admin console, click the App Launcher App Launcher and then More, and select LinkedIn Learning.
  • To sign in at LinkedIn Learning:
    1. Navigate to https://www.linkedin.com/learning/login-ent. You should be automatically redirected to the Google sign-in page.
    2. Enter your username and password.

    After your sign in credentials are authenticated, you're automatically redirected back to LinkedIn Learning.
