Google Drive storage licenses apply only to G Suite Basic edition. They are not available to G Suite Nonprofits or the legacy free edition, and aren't necessary for other editions with unlimited storage. Compare editions
The information in this article applies to customers who signed up for G Suite directly. If you signed up for G Suite through a reseller, contact your reseller to purchase Drive storage licenses. If you’re not sure how you signed up for G Suite, go to Do I have a reseller?
As a G Suite administrator, you can give users more storage space for their uploaded files by purchasing more Drive storage. First, you activate extra Drive storage licenses in your Admin console. Licenses are available in different sizes (shown below). You then assign licenses to specific users.

You can't purchase Drive storage in BRL or MXN currencies.
Activate Google Drive storage licenses
From the Admin console Home page, go to AppsG Suite.
To see Apps you might have to click More controls at the bottom.
- At the top, click Add Services.
- Below Google Drive storage, click Add it now.
- Follow instructions to review the pricing and payment plan, read and accept the Terms of Service for Google Drive storage, and select your payment method (incurs no charges).
- Assign licenses to users.
Your payment method will now be charged only for the licenses you assign.
Get unlimited storage
Instead of purchasing storage licenses as described here, G Suite Basic customers can upgrade to G Suite Business or Enterprise. This gives all users unlimited Drive storage (or 1 TB if 4 or fewer users), and access to extra business-grade services.
