Remove Gmail as a forwarding phone

If you no longer wish to receive your Google Voice phone calls in Gmail, you can easily disable it as a forwarding phone. To do so:

  1. Sign in to Google Voice.
  2. Navigate to Settings under the gear icon.
  3. In the Phones tab, uncheck the box next to Google Chat.

If you ever wish to begin receiving calls again, simply re-check this setting. You can also disable outbound calling in Gmail.
