Set up phones to receive calls

To make and receive calls with your Google Voice number, you'll need to link at least one U.S. phone number. Calls to your Google Voice number will ring any linked number that you choose to forward calls to.

You also get Google Voice calls in Hangouts. Incoming calls can ring in Hangouts at the same time as your linked numbers.

Add a number where you want to get calls

You can set up any phone number to take your Google Voice calls and texts.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. At the top left, tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Phone numbers," tap Linked numbers.
  4. Tap New linked number. You can link up to six numbers.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your number.
Get notifications in Gmail

Re-verify a number where you want to get calls

  2. At the bottom, you'll see a message that says "Your linked number is inactive." Tap Reverify.
  3. Next to your linked number, tap Reverify.
