Archive or delete a message, call, or voicemail

Archiving lets you hide a conversation from your inbox without deleting it. If someone replies to a conversation you've archived, the messages will show up again in your inbox.

Deleting a message, call, or voicemail permanently removes it from your inbox. It isn’t deleted on the devices of the people you chatted with.

Archive a conversation

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab.
  3. Tap the conversation you want to archive.
  4. At the top right, tap More More and then Archive.

Bring back a conversation you archived

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. At the top left, tap Menu Menu and then Archived.
  3. Tap the conversation you want to restore.
  4. At the top right, tap More More and then Restore.

Delete a call or voicemail

After you delete a call or voicemail, you can't see it again.

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Calls Calls tab or Voicemail Voicemail tab.
  3. Tap the call or voicemail you want to remove.
  4. Tap More More and then Delete.
  5. Confirm by tapping OK.

Delete messages

After you delete a text message, you can't see it again.

Delete a single message

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab.
  3. Tap the conversation.
  4. Touch and hold the text you want to remove.
  5. Tap Delete.
  6. Confirm by tapping Delete.

Delete a conversation

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab.
  3. Tap the conversation.
  4. At the top right, tap More More and then Delete.
